Interesting. The first two measures are actually open strings (slightly influenced by Metallica's Nothing Else Matters). It is very possible that the guitar was a few cents out of tune. I'll probably re-record that riff, not as smooth as I'd like to. And that high e sounds like crap but that's because I recorded that with old strings. I just re-stringed the guitar and she sounds so much better.

Thanks about the bassline! I have to say I was quite proud about that bass because it was so hard to get it with the touchscreen bass from the app. I'm particularly proud of the verse riff bassline but it's kinda drowned from the up-front guitar. I'll bring that bassline up on the final recording.

The change is something I'll work on too, I know it's quite abrupt, maybe a rest measure and then a lead-in note. Or just leave it alone, it's like a slap in the face and maybe that will add to the song.

The lead... I'm almost embarrassed by that haha! It will definitely be reworked. You got distracted because there's not really a song structure there it's just an intro, a verse, a lead and the end. The Abrupt lead ending is a limitation of the app, there's almost zero sustain, the only way to get more sustain is by cranking up the gain which will bring up this terrible feedback. But the solo is supposed to end with that high E ringing for at least an extra measure.

Your next point I take it as a compliment, since it made you believe it was a studio recording! What's funny is that I actually used my iPad's mic to pick up my acoustic guitar. There was a lot of ambient noise, from the TV in the living room to cars driving by. If I isolate the track I can definitely hear it. And it's a very simple open Em, C, D-Dsus chord progression. I think that's my favorite part of the song, and I'll definitely end it that way.

Again, thanks for the feedback, I'm working really hard on this and I've been recording several chorus tracks trying to find the one that flows the best. One is following the same C key of the main riff, the other I'm playing with heavier sounding open E5 and other low chug chug power chords. Truth is that I can't play most of the ideas that play in my head!

Ok, this is getting very long already, but I want to make clear that this is as rough of a recording as it goes. It's more like recorded ideas that I'm trying to arrange into a song. But I really appreciate the feedback, thanks to you guys I'm more motivated than ever to continue working on this. I wish I uploaded this a month ago when I had this recorded. :)

Update to the song. Added a few more parts and I know I have some timing issues towards the end but just to give you guys an idea how's turning up. :)
