so, as i mentioned before i want to save myself some money and attempt to build my first pedal.... this is an auto wah that's very close to the snow white (retails for 200) the board is like ten bucks, but I'm a complete noob to this whole idea... they've got all the diagrams right here on this page, but I have no idea what I'm looking at. Would someone who knows more about this kind of thing please have a look and tell me where to start? Should I just go to radio shack with these diagrams and hope someone can load me up? thanks in advance.

Not without a proper schematic.

i dont see the schematic either .. all i see for the 10 bucks is a pcb board . you eed to know what to buy then you also need an enclosure imguessing pots. and in and out connectors to plug your cables in.. how do you know what to get without a proper schematic with a parts list .?

Your typical Rat Shack employee won't know a schematic from chili recipe.

Here's the parts list and schematic:

To be honest, telling you where to start and walking you through the process would be very time consuming and take a lot of back and forth in the forum. This does not look like something that someone with no experience should try for a first build. I would suggest something simpler like this:

I second the BYOC Build Your Own Clone, nice products and the directions are step by step and easy to follow. Still, if you've never built anything electronic you may end up totally frustrated and out 90 bucks or whatever. I built two boxes from BYOC and although I enjoyed the process I rarely use them.

Thirded!

That's not the most straightforward home build for a first attempt. As a practical consideration, even if you do get the right parts and put them in the right place - and I don't see why you couldn't with patience and copious googlage - would you know how to troubleshoot any problems if it doesn't work? I'd definitely set your sights a little lower (and cheaper) before trying that.

This was my first kit build. No instructions or troubleshooting information. Just several bags of loose parts and a schematic and wiring diagram. However, I have a BSEE and studied tubes in college and learned to read schematics a long time ago. :D

Bill, you are also one heck of a tidy craftsman. That amp is just as pretty on the inside as on the outside!

Thanks.

Wasn't intending to hijack the thread, merely pointing out that we all have varying knowledge, experience, and skill levels and should tailor our efforts to them. I have been building electronics for some time. Starting with something above one's level of expertise usually only leads to frustration and dissapointment.
