I keep getting an error message about technical difficulties. Hopefully it will let me post the rest...

A look at the components under the hood... Volume pot, tone pot and tone cap, 5-way switch and push/pull knob... And we're ready to solder in the pickups!
Image

At that point, I had to go teach a guitar lesson. So I don't have any additional pictures from assembly. Basically, Robert had to drill a few holes to get the bridge pickup (really a Seymour Duncan neck pickup) to sit low enough to match the height of the other pups. Then he soldered the pickups in, finished the nut, added the string trees, and set it up!

Here's the finished product!
Image

Graph tech string trees. I usually like just one, but it really needed two and graph tech was what we had available. Not bad though. :)
Image

The neck actually fits in there now, but the neck pocket was quite a headache!

That push/pull knob controls the bridge pickup. It engages it in the up position. So if I have the five way switch set to the neck pickup, it adds the bridge pickup and gives me a Tele/Paul/Strat tone! I have the tone controls wired like on my custom strat. The first one controls the neck/middle, and the second one just controls the bridge pickup.
Image

And finally, back home in it's natural habitat!
Image

I'm probably bringing it along with me for my birthday jam this week, so there should be some videos of it up soon from that! Robert will be on vacation for a week, so the decal will still have to wait a bit.

For God's sake, don't smoke around that pickguard!

Turned out real nice, with plenty of vintage visual vibe!

Rawk on!

+1000

And I know they'll roar like a 440 Magnum when the guitar is plugged into a vintage Super Reverb or Vibroverb and you "step on the gas".

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
