Well, I know that everybody is trying to get to know everybody here a little bit better, and seeing as I'm currently sick, I figured this a good idea. Or maybe not, but hey, this is just me being me... :)

So, I got mono last fall, was out of school for SIX WEEKS, went back for half-days for a bit, and was then told by my "ear-nose-and-throat" doctor that I needed to have my tonsils out, keeping me out of school for FOUR MORE WEEKS. (Needless to say, I got a lot accomplished on my guitar playing 8) ) I still get sick every once in a while, like now, where I have strep or a sinus infection. And my brother has a very mild form of Fibromyalgia, which we just discovered, as well.

So, stories anybody?

During Christmas time 2004, I kept getting really dizzy everyday to the point of nausea. Couldn't do anything, I couldn't function. Went to see a doctor, he said it was migraine-induced vertigo, even though I was not getting headaches. Went to another doctor and he said it was some type of virus. After missing nine weeks of work, I was able to walk from here to there in a straight line without falling over or getting sick. Two months later, I got a lower respiratory infection which turned into pneumonia, a 4-day hospital stay, and 3 weeks off work. From being sick and in the hospital, I had quit smoking. Then one month later, I hurt my back and missed the next 16 months of work. Well, sitting at home bored everyday, I started smoking again.
Last July, I got strep throat two weeks prior to a big family vacation. My doctor was/is cool about it and pulled me out of work so that I could rest and get better. And this past march, I got sick again and could not shake it. 4 different doses of antibiotics in a 4 week period. Missed 3 weeks of work, had to miss a close friend's birthday party, and cancel an important trip out of town. Absolutely kicked my butt, I finally feeling my energy coming back now.

Sorry about your brothers illness. I hope it is kept in check.

As for yourself, please get plenty of rest. I know you said you got plenty of practice time in. Though it would be a drag if you had a gig or wanted to jam with other people. Kinda tough when you have mono.

I hope you have fully recovered.

I had a touch of the NoroVirus a few years back. Luckily at the time I lived in an apartment where while sitting on the toilet, you could lean to the right and your head would be over the bathtub. I needed this on that day because I was sitting on the toilet, with everything flying out of that end, but then simultaneously, I started puking at the same time too. So luckily I could just lean over a bit and have stereo exits without making a mess....

Oh, man, that's tough. Please do what it takes to return to robust health.

I'm a 60% disabled Vet with mild bi-polar, 2 flat feet that hurt really bad from time to time. 2 bad kness; In '92 the Docs said I had 50k miles on my 60k Miles knees. The Miniscus is gone in 3 places on the right one; it tends to hurt when the weather changes or I move "wrong". In 91 or so they diagnosed me with Fibro Myagia, In 95 I got the word about hard arteries and Arthritus in my hips. In 97 they took a disk out of my back (l-4-5).
I still out perform many under 35 types at work; mainly out of a sense of duty more than anything else.
But I pay a price. Some days I don't well up to working; those are becoming coser together.
Man some of the stuff you guys have been through makes me fell like I have no problems at all.

I missed a week of school because i was complaining about a very sore stomach. I went into the doctors office and he felt a lump. So they sent me to Winnipeg and after 5 hours in the hospital they realized all along they were feeling my Abs. I ended up picking up a few accessories though. :D

After dad died from cancer in Dec. 1999 I was staying at his house trying to fix it up to put it on the market. About two weeks after his death I got these horrible pains in my lower back, I mean god awful, lay on the floor moaning with tears. Went to the ER and they told me I had a kidney stone and that wouldn't be a problem but that tumor I had growing on my kidney was a real problem. Seems I had cancer too. Got that old "hope for the best and expect the worst speech" from a urologist. That damn painful kidney stone saved my life. So my Y2K bug was renal carcinoma.
