Hi all, I've been playing guitar over 40 years now. I'm new to this forum.

My first was a baby blue Fender Mustang which I wish I still had--early 70's. I then purchased a Fender Tele back in the late 70's but my son kind of claimed ownership of that one. So, anyway, I always wanted a Strat. I just picked up a beautiful American Special Cherry Red Strat from Sweetwater. I'm enjoying it tremendously. I have several other big name guitars but I can't seem to put this one down.

Thanks Fender for making an affordable, high quality, Made in the US guitar.

this is an amazing promotion...but can anybody say whether or not it could extend to telecasters? or perhaps there's another one following.....??

Thanks!

This particular "Sale-a-bration" is limited to the extensive listing of Stratocaster guitars that I posted up top in the initial post on this thread. The program is going great so far so who knows, perhaps we'll do another one like it covering Tele models in the future!

See Tiger J's post on the thread..."Advice on buying a new Stratocaster' thread....pg four...this Forum....regarding the AmSpec Surf Green finish and Guitar Center. Talk about serving the consumer and the manufacturer's interests....Uffff!!!

We actually touched on that scenario already earlier in this very thread - let me know if there is any further confusion on it.
Well, for some reason, GC seems to deny the very existence of the Surf Green Am Spl, which would have been my first choice! Other dealers I am familiar with are stating it exists but is not available.
As you can see, I've brought this to Brad's attention. Suppose you give it another try and let him know if you're being stonewalled. There may be others interested in that finish. Only have 4 more days to do so.

Appreciate it ZZ... I guess I would feel kinda stupid returning a perfectly good candy apple red American Special to have them order the Surf Green... assuming they will. Plus, they did give me the Spring Break deal plus another $100 off for the original coupon deal I purchased the Strat with. But I don't understand why the Surf Green isn't even listed as an option at GC. It is probably because they want to sell off their New Old Stock rather than have to order new guitars from factory. MY CAR Am Spl is a late 2012 manufacture.

Now if I can just win the giveaway promo... maybe I will get my Surf Green Strat after all!

......so now we know the rest of the story. Well it's really a catch as catch can situation, isn't it. The dealers can participate to the extent they desire to and, it [as suggested by Brad] is reasonable to assume that they would take advantage of the sales guidelines to reduce inventories. It would be nice if the vendor would state publicly that availability is limited to stock on hand if that is the case in that location. Keep in mind that, on the other side of the aisle, once inventories are depleted, dealers will order new stock. That's called marketing smarts on the part of the manufacturer

Reading this thread is kind of a bummer. :( I ordered a Surf Green American Special from Long & McQuade and I guess I will be waiting awhile for it according to Brads info on the colour. I was hoping to get it next week. Oh well, for the price I paid I will be happy to wait for it.

You're in better hands than the customers at a certain Guitar Center are. Patience. I wish GC had them as competition here in Palm Beach County.

Today is the last day of the sale. I have an HSS Tungsten American Deluxe with Rosewood fretboard loaded into my cart even though there is not one in stock. I am torn, I really like the Wine Transparent too. Neither are in stock at this time at Sweetwater however which is where I have a gift certificate. I am going to order today. Anyone have any idea on how long the wait would be on how long it takes for their new stock to arrive?

Just in the nick of time, I ordered a candy apple red Blacktop Strat from Sweetwater. I tried out a couple BT Strats here locally and really liked the neck shape, finish, and appearance. I'll be using the BT Strat as a starting point for two "mix 'n match" projects.

I'm converting the BT Strat to an SSS pickup configuration (Duncan SSL2/SSL6/SSL3) and replaciing the rosewood neck with the nicely figured, v-shape, maple neck from my Classic Players '50s. I'm installing the BT Strat rosewood neck on the shoreline gold CP '50s body...

BT Strat loaded HH pickguard will go to eBay, maybe to fund a Callaham replacement bridge assy for the BT Strat body 'cause I like pop-in trem arms...

End result -- nice candy apple red Strat with vintage sounding pickups and vintage looking maple neck.. Plus, a nice shoreline gold CP 50's Strat (57/62 pups, 2-pt trem) with a 22-fret rosewood neck...

Hello all, I am new to Fender Guitars and these forums. I have wanted a Stratocaster for quite some time. I was going to eventually pick up a MIM Strat for my stable of middle of the road (price wise) guitars. I have an Epiphone Les Paul Standard in Honeyburst (great guitar), an Epiphone T-310 Custom natural (Tele style, plays awesome), an Epiphone T-310 Standard in black. These guitars have their place on my wall and in my heart for sure. I played both the MIM and MIA strats last week at my local guitar store while dropping the T-310 C off for repairs to its electric gear. This visit made me realize I would want the MIA beyond any doubt. I then noticed the Sale-A-Bration and well the rest is history....I have, resting in a stand, a Fender 2012 American Standard SSS in Mystic Blue with a maple neck from Sweetwater Music. I could not be happier and I can't put it down!!!! I will continue to dust off the others on occaision as they will not be played much! :D
Sorry for the long post, but glad to be here!!!!!

Someone should have warned you to beware The Sale-A-Bration's siren song. You ask how I've resisted? ..[Well, even if you did not  ]...simple...they've not yet issued an American Vintage '57. :? :?
