picked this up at an estate sale... looks to be a pattern/mold of some sort... maybe for a molded case? but i've never seen a jazzmaster case which was molded to fit.

It's a body shield for a Jaguar or Jazzmaster. Fender used to offer these back in the '60s for most of their guitars. I've seen a few pop up on Ebay from time to time. They snap over the rear of the body to prevent gouges and buckle rash.

i did a little digging and found that it's actually a mold for making the bodyguard.
