Cut my hair decades ago because the boss man told me to and I had a wife and young baby at the time and needed the money. I used to have shoulder-length hair parted in the middle.

If I were to try that today I'd look like Ben Franklin on the $100 bill. Ben's still on the hundred, right? Been a while since I've seen one. The only thing that hasn't changed is that I STILL need the money. :(

I've had it off and on since I was 16, even had it shaved on the sides similar to Trent Reznor, when he was still on smack, way back in the day and dyed various colours. I guess I was one of those freaky Death Rocker types. :P The last time I had long hair, it was a couple of years ago, and it was really long. It went almost to my waist. It was problematic, because it would start getting caught in the car door. The problem with it was I have wavy hair, so I kind of looked like someone from .38 Special and my girlfriend use to joke that I looked like I was a roadie for Lynyrd Skynyrd. She did put up with it for many years, though. The thing is that I decided it wasn't really me, in the long run. Maybe, if I had straight hair, it would work better. I've always been a Post Punk type musician and not a metal head, or even a hard rocker, even though I have played it in the past. It doesn't really gel with my style, so I chopped it off and bleached it. I'm still not going to be "normal," whatever that is. I'm a musician, not an accountant. That's probably why I'm broke right now :P

Meantime. I grew mine long for a year or two in my early 20s. Man, long hair is a pain! Bar those couple of years a short-ish, tidy-ish mod cut has been mine all down the decades. No reason to change that now.

Cheers - C

The longest my hair ever got was in the third grade, it it was about as long as '64-era Beatles.

I've never had long hair, and my current hairstyle was adopted when was 15 years old...and that was a long time ago. The only difference is some springling of gray a bit less thickness right in the front. The gray doesn't bother me... :|

Yea, I cut it when it gets too thick, though. Not only does it grow down, but it grows outward. I #$@*&!% hate it now, but at least I won't be as bald as my friends 20 years down the road.

Only in my wildest punk rock days I had short hair. Then came my metal days where I had really long hair. Today it has shoulder-length and I like it this way.

I had blond curls like Frampton when I was small. After some stranger commented on my being a little girl, my father saw a chance to get my locks cut while he got his trimmed. My mother had a fit and Dad ended up in the doghouse. Nah Nah Nah NAh NAh NAh! My hair turned brown and the long hair did not return until much later.

My Dad, you see, was a senior NCO in the Canadian Navy having seen WWII, the Korean War, and peacetime service. My mother also served in WW II. I joined in '64 with fear of Vietnam expanding to include my nation. I remember while in England in '65, British sailors complained that their short hair was a detriment to picking up chicks. The government, it was said, heard their plea and, as a goodwill gesture, decided not to relax the rules, but to provide Beatle wigs (sounds like the Glam bands out of Tinsel Town). I'm sure James Bond, another sailor of the times, put in a good word for the troops. But wait! Didn't he have all the chicks?! And he had short hair. Go figure.

Seven years later I left the Navy and joined the group of long shoulder length hair advocates. Shoulder length was okay for me as Keith Moon was my idol until I saw the light. It was curly, but my wife, a former hair stylist, thought it would be good to give me a perm. Well I could have joined the soul brothers at MoTown. But, I did look groovy behind my drums (except for the one pant suit some goofball bought me ) Goodbye Disco hair!

Today I am 65, my hair (what little I have) is a third colour-white. I'm thinkin' I should get it streaked and spiked like Rascal Flatts while I still can; after all I'm too much of a wuss to take the pain of a cool tiger tattoo on my inevitable bald head.

I play the axe now and I gotta have a look!

If worse comes to worse, I'll just invest in a cool hat like I had when I had lots of hair 8)

That is funny right there gentleman! I never made that connection when posting the photo, but we don't play "the Reaper" so my first guess would be Honky Tonk Women. And a photo before that black Squier became my "Grumpy" bass.
