anyone have one/played one before? I've been looking for an auto wah and this seems to be the best thing i've found online...350 is crazy, but they're on ebay for 200 with a few free cables... I'm thinking about pulling the trigger...this would be the first "boutique" kind of pedal i've ever even looked at twice.... thoughts? Is there something just as good that's cheaper ? Or do any of you electronic-savvy people think I should attempt to make my own clone ? there are websites that sell parts kits for 90 dollars or so... I've never done anything like that before and I'm pretty sure it's not a beginner's project. heh.... feedback please!

Dan, you can put it together. The Brothers and Sisters here will watch out for you. 90 bucks is good, right? :D

I really do... of course I'm only judging off youtube vids, autowah shootouts, etc.... None of my local shops have a snow white to play with....
also just found out it's the newer versions that go for 200, the originals are 350 ish. the new ones sound amazing... i'm going to see if guitar center will get one in to let me demo it.

Dan, try to build your own. Find a kit with instructions.
I've built lots of pedals from Build Your Own Clone, General Guitar Gadgets and now I'm looking at Mod Kits DIY. Mammoth Electronics has an auto wah kit for $69.00.

If your looking for parts try Mouser Electronics. They have a huge selection and no minimum purchase.

Building your own teaches you something, plus the pedals can be easily modded.

yep. that's the route i'm leaning towards. I really want to get as close to the snow white as possible... I might have to ask you a few dumb questions in the next few weeks! :)

Not a problem, ask away!
I never really got too deep into auto wah. I had an original Mutron III and after 30 years with it I sold it along with an original Mutron Octave Divider for close to $1200. The only one I regretted selling was the Octave Divider. That said, the auto wah's are pretty slick today. I jusy loke doing my own Wah pedal techniques.

see, i've never had the foot skills for all that... lol. i've had a few wah pedals over the years and never had much fun with them. but I've played with a few auto - wahs in stores and man, I love it. say what you will, i'm THAT guy who needs a pedal to do the work for me. :)

It's funny how many times I come to the forum and find a thread on something I'm wondering about myself. I have a need for an auto wah pedal and the Snow White looks pretty good. I bought a Mad Professor Golden Cello overdrive and like it a lot. I think I'm going to give the Snow White a try. Thanks for posting this.

After revisiting the videos a few times I have to agree with you. It does sound the best (best being non-digital and organic) compared to all the others I found.
