Never use it and don't participate with the council much anymore.

I do have 7 friends though... :D

You got eight, nugget!

I'd prefer that I not be on the receiving end of an NDAA-sanctioned drone strike because some jack-booted federal thug had that "power" over me and tagged me as a disenfranchised malcontent due to intel gleaned by sifting my facebook posts through Echelon software.

A black helicopter, I might be able to deal with.

But there's simply no arguing with a Hellfire missile.

But I also agree w Blerties . Many just don't take their time to control their privacy settings.
I've got to admit that I use FB  - and have so far not had any bad experiences.
What worries me more , is that so many other sources can put out any $@!& they like to about you

Actually, Facebook is dying, albeit a slow death.

And, somewhat surprisingly from younger people.

Many say that exchanging daily/hourly snipets about their friend's lives just isn't a substitute for real friendship and causes alienation amongst friends. They say that they actually see their friends less, partly because there's nothing to catch up on.

Zuckerberg was smart to go Public and start to get out when he did. It's gonna be a commercial bust.

All this aside from the Privacy issues.

cheers!

I have an account I opened to get access to Spotify (it never worked and you don't need FB to get in anymore) and to enter contests (never won anything) so I have never "friended" anybody. In fact, I've rejected my brother, my best friend, all of my kids, grandchildren, old classmates, everybody. I hope they understand.

I think it's just creepy that you can give them a few bits of information and in moments your distant past comes rushing back with alarming accuracy.
