I have a studio in my basement. All of my and my son's guitars are hanging on the wall down there. UV is not an issue where there is no direct sunlight.
Some of my guitars were purchased in the 70's and they all play as nicely (if not better) than when I first acquired them... because I'm a stickler about maintaining my guitars. Humidity is going to vary no matter how hard you try to regulate it, and your guitars are going to react to it accordingly whether they're in or out of the case.
In extreme changes the cases will protect them for a period of time depending on the quality of the case... but sooner or later, the humidity or lack thereof is going to get to the guitar.
Check and adjust the action of your guitars regularly. That'll keep the necks from getting warped. Kinda like maintaining your car. You change your oil every 3000 miles, and check it once a week or so (right?... I hope...)

As far as "the rack" - I use "String Swing" wall hangers, and a homemade pine rack that holds 6 guitars. I keep them on the wall because I have pets... guitar stands are somewhat unreliable when it comes to a big, happy dog and his swinging tail

I have my guitars leaning against their amps. Gig bags for gigs. :D

I'm glad I have a very supporting and tolerant wife, since I ain't got a music room.
I "misuse" our living room!

Reducing my collection didn't help much, I have three amps now!

Smokin Frets...Do you get direct sunlight in that window? Seems like that could cause serious issues with your guitars. I have a stand similar to yours, except mine case is tweed and unfolds where the top piece acts as a separator and also as somewhat of a dust protector over the top of the guitars. Comes in handy during practice when you want to take a break and can put a bass and two guitars into pretty quickly.

I think the UV issue is mostly mitigated by simply having modern, multi-pane windows. Part of their Energy benefit is blocking UV with a near transparent filter sandwiched between.

Also helps keep the carpet and furniture from fading. Has the same effect on a Nitro finish, which is the only one susceptible to UV, poly finishes are mostly immune.

cheers !

Don't worry. we just placed them there while we moved in and were still sorting things out.
They have a different place now. :)
Still near a window but without direct sunlight.

I currently own 2 guitars. Both stay in their cases as theres not much of a collection to show off. While I don't know whether it would be harmful to keep them out all of the time, I do know that there's no harm that can come from taking 10 seconds to put them away after playing. The peace of mind is worth the time invested.

Keeping your guitars in the case only works if you actually close and lock the case, as I found out the hard way once. :(

Framed guitars? That makes about as much sense as a chef framing his knives, or a swimmer framing his speedo.
Does he frame his amps too?

those are paintings with wall hangers attached. The guitar sits in front of the painting.

Pretty much the best recycling idea for what passes as modern art in most Main street stores these days, to my eyes at least.

Meh. The frames take up WAY TOO MUCH SPACE and I don't like them anyway.

The GUITAR is the artwork, the rest is just background pollution.

KISS!

Very cool.

I wouldn't spend money on one, but very cool none the less.
