Hello Amerigo,

If the amp wouldn't be in warranty anymore, I would have done just that.

With "in warranty" you mean you don't physically have the amp? So I'd go and fetch it. Or do you mean it's still under warranty? I wouldn't care at all, and replace the speaker immediately. The amp will sound better! Why wait for a replacement which isn't that great of a speaker anyway?

Cheers

David

Hey Amerigo,

Sorry, my english isn't that good. I mean under warranty of course ;-).

I see your point, but why would I pay for a speaker if they have to change it for free?
By the way, do you really think changing one out of four speakers would make such a big difference to the overall sound?

Anyway, the problem seems to be solved, since today I received a mail from the shop saying that they are going to swap the speaker with another amp they have in stock, and wait for delivery of the replacement speaker for their amp. So all is going to be fine, after all!

It is still a disappointment though that I never got an answer from the guys at Fender on my mail or on this post. It tells a lot about their commitment to their customers...

It could be possible that maybe Fender didn't reply directly to you but saw that the dealer was shirking what was his responsibility and told him to act on it,but either way,it would've been a good gesture for them to at least acknowledge your emails.

Totally, yes. Proper setting of bias, good tubes, the right speaker ... can be a totally different world. If they anyway have to put a new speaker, make it a really good one.

I agree to what you said, e-mails should be answered. But (yeah, but) Fender really isn't in charge of such service questions, that's always through your dealer.

Cheers

David

I agree that it is the shop that has to give the service, but if Fender doesn't send the replacement parts, there's not much they can do, is it?

Eitherway, my problem with the amp is solved. It's their problem now.
