Ishibashi has a 50K yen minimum for export sales too. That's around $500. Shipping is another $125 or more depending on where.

Still looks a bit difficult to go through the process IMO. All the cart info is japanese.

Hey moochy, in our part of the world this supplier is a good way to get CIJ guitars imported reliably:

www.guitar-emporium.co.uk

Lots of interesting Japanese Fenders are made in quite short runs so that site doesn't attempt to list them all, but if you don't see what you want they can usually order it for you. So it's worth asking. I bought my CIJ ST-57 from them (sort of) and found it safe and friendly, if rather slow.

There's also www.fareastguitars.co.uk , but I could never get a reply out them, which didn't inspire confidence. Still, others seem to have bought from them successfully.

And lastly, Regent Sounds in Denmark Street in London usually have a reasonable selection of CIJ Fenders, if you prefer to try before you buy.

Cheers - C

if i was ordering from them id be doing it over email, not the cart.

50k yen is about equal to what buying a MIM std is here in the UK. id much rather have a MIJ guitar. and unless they charge me 100k yen for postage, it will still work out cheaper than a boggo std US strat, and i believe the japanese guitars at least as good as those.

yeah sorry was writing as you posted.

just looking at their prices, i compared the 'dave gilmour 001' replica. theres 400 GBP difference between GE and ishibashi.

now ive not tried, but im pretty sure i could order from japan and get one in my hands without paying that much extra. ive ordered lots of stuff from japan and hong kong before, postage is swift and the right markings on the invoice can erm.....'reduce' import costs 8)

i appreciate the benefits of purchasing from a shop in your own country, but not that much

It's actually easy. Don't use the cart- get an international calling phone card and give them a call. You will speak to an english speaking rep who will help. They will give you more info on any model number you give them and more pics too. Everything if not done by phone, will be done via email. They sell internationally and they have done this thousands of times. They are really good at what they do.

Back on topic for the moment...

Just got back from the Roadshow. Despite the absence of leftys it was still a great 3 hours.

Koch is, well, as you'd expect. He is not disappoint.

Deep purple were playing tonight, just over the road from the theatre, so queue plenty of Purple jokes and licks thrown in at the best inappropriate moments.

Scored one of the door prizes, a history of fender amps book. It's so big you can hurt people with it. Even a Koch.
