I used to use all sorts of pedals...I play through a Marshall JCM2000 DSL 100. Most, but not all, pedals have a negative/ coloring effect on your tone. My opinion now is the less pedals you use the better and more natural your tone will be.

Oh goodness I can't start down this road again..after reviewing pedals for the past 12 years I could never pick a favorite. I have tons of them and I love em all. After spending years building my amp and guitar wish lists I ultimately reached gear nirvana and then started getting heavily into effects. I've been reviewing them on my band's site and on Harmony Central for the past 12 years and I would refer you to my reviews on Harmony Central however they recently "upgraded" their site and lost everyone's reviews and over 11,000 of my posts in the process. I had been posting reviews and gear review threads there since October 2000 so they've basically lost over 12 years of my work. Kinda odd to go from over 17,000 posts there to what, 5 or 6 here...

Sorry

Oh well - gives me alot more time to play 8)

I wobble between using no pedals at all to using a selection from my hoard. Whatever gets the job done!

Favourite is rather tricky. I'd probably have to say my old MXR Dyna Comp, which is my go to pedal for when a tone is close but not quite working in the mix.

Getting very fond of my Carl Martin DC Drive as well - I take that, the MXR and a Digitech DL-8 when I go to places where I don't know what amp I'll be playing through just to be sure I'll be able to at least get close to the tones I like, regardless of what abomination is waiting for me to plug into.
