That's a good lookin' bass. I plan to get a Chinese Squier Classic Vibe Jazz one day for a fretless conversion. Good stuff.

Very nice! I've played a couple, those pickups add a whole new dimension to the sound.

Got one, that's a lot of bass for not much money and a lot better than the Squier Vintage Modified fretless Jazz.

It's funny, everyone raves about the Vintage Modified Jazz (me included, I own one) and hate the Fretless, I played a few and couldn't find a good one. Every VM Mod Jazz, 6, all sounded good. The pickups weren't as good as fenders, but as a whole, they're good instruments.

The VM fretless body is made from a wood called Agathis which is apparently "furniture grade mahogany"

yeah it definitely has a different sound from a normal single coil JB. it still has a cool unique sound which I am digging a lot. I also really liked how much better these basses seem to be made than the MIM. and a mim is 100 dollars more and seems like half the bass this on is

I love the Jazz bass.
Congrats!

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

How did you manage to find one in white? I had one on order but after about 8 months of waiting and no word from Fender I gave up and cancelled the order.

Of all of my guitars, my MP Jaguar has the best fret job. The sides of teh neck a smooth, with a silky finish. My Amer. standard tele. is nasty by comparison as is my American made LP. Only my made in Indonesia Ibanez bass has a comparable neck finish. My American made guitars have the worst fret jobs as far as sharp edges and sticking out goes. There is Miss America and myth America. I take neither one seriously.

I don't have a Fender bass and was considering the same model. An MP Jazz. Electronics and tuning pegs are something I can change. I want a nice piece of wood to hold and the neck is very important.
