If you're from the Mass, NH area (I know some of you are) you might remember Salisbury Beach. Recently I've gone through some old photos of my mother's and found some others online and put them up in some galleries. 1971 is the way I remember it. Check out the marquee at the Frolics
check them out

It might be about 3000 miles away from me now, but I remember it well from the few years I spent living in the US.

I would have been sat right in the middle of your 2013 photo of the pier about 12 years ago.

I recall doing some gigs at The Pavillion, but don't see it in any pictures. Maybe it was another name? another time? (70s).

That was further down, about a block north, from the Center wasn't it, long after the rides were gone? One variation of it is still there

Your right Jim, a club that was on the right side of that pavillion, but even before that I remember playing with a band
called "Duke & The Drivers" at a club/hall/venue to the right of the old Howard Johnson's spot (what was the name?)

Opening act was James Montgomery Blues Band, who is still around with George McCann rippin' it up on guitar.

The club to the right of the Hojo's in that pic was the Frolics. That lasted thru the '70s. Everyone played there. I remember the band Duke and the Drivers, the name at least.

Frolics - yeah, but I seem to recall another name?

Maybe Salisbury Beach _______?

Nice link to New England artists, by the way, but missing some
monster players a la Kenny Paulsen, who played with Freddy 'Boom Boom' Cannon & others and The Perna Brothers Band, who are in Texas these days.

...and of course Grace Potter (from Vermont). :D

Stayed a few nights at Hampton about 5 years ago. Went to Salisbury on a day trip... very run down. Its current state doesn't live up to my childhood memories. Kinda sad.
