While I was in my usual guitar store-Reid Music-the other day the guys gave me a copy of the new Fender Custom Collection 2013 catalogue and told me of the great time that they had at NAMM and how incredible an experience it was dispite going there for the past few years-it gets better and more amazing each year. The high point of their trip was a guided tour of the Fender Custom Shop. They met some of the incredible luthiers and were able to see some of the guitars that they were working on.They weren't allowed to bring cameras or cell phones etc. into the area because some of the guitars may have been destined for a famous guitarist and they couldn't risk pix getting out before the customer took delivery of their custom beauty.

This issue of the catalogue has bios of the top luthiers and you finally get to see the faces and get to know a little about the artisans who create these wonderful instruments. The pages also have a few pix-but not near enough- of stunning guitars. The Custom Deluxe Strat with the rosewood board and Ebony Transparent finish that's on the front cover is just too beautiful to imagine-I'd sell my kidneys to have that beauty.

I didn't even know the Custom Shop had its own catalog.

The Custom Shop Catalogue is the first one that I've seen, the guys used to give me copies of Frontline whenever it was published but this is a new one on me and it gives the prices and specs of Custom Shop guitars such as the Time Machine series,Pro Collection,Custom Deluxe,Artist Series plus an introduction to their Master Builders.
Prices range from $4,200 for the 1959 Relic Esquire to $8,200 for the Merle Haggard Tele. These prices are the MSRP so I would imagine that the actual store price would be somewhat lower, there are some very pretty guitars among them.

Yes sir ripitup-that's the puppy that I was talking about I just loved the tiger striped maple finish. If I saw a beauty like that in a guitar store I'd scoop it up even if it meant having to go to the food bank for the next couple of years...lol.

Find something else to swap. You have enough issues without needing twice weekly dialysis in exchange for a guitar. Besides, with your NL healthcare plan being what it is, I doubt you'd survive the ex-plant.

You have certainly made a good point Doc-the term Health Care has become an oxymoron in our province.
