Ok Doc. I didn't get that vibe from Eric.

It's a known fact that Eric was literally out of commission in the early 70's due to heroin addiction. The 'Rainbow Concert' was an attempt by his friend Pete Townsend to get him back to work. The photos taken of him there, which was the first appearance of Blackie as a stage guitar, show him bearded and gaunt. Afterwards he slipped back into the shadows for awhile longer. If you've not read his autobio, it's a must for insight into his demons.

I think we read two different biographies.

Thanks for the heads up Doc. I'm from the school of my demons eat your demons for breakfast. Eric liked to go fast, everyone did. That was the most I heard about Eric. At the Hollywood Bowl concert in '68 the rumor rippling through the crowd Jimi in the dressing room going further than fast, big difference, leakage. but rumors autobiographical or biographical, rumors, nevermind. 8)

I guess he gotta have more time to spend with his family!

BTW the Clapton legacy will continue with his daughter Ruthie succeeding him....

Very attractive young woman. Can I assume that she's Yvonne's daughter out of his relationship with her mother on Montserrat? She's been in the shadows all these years as far as my knowledge. Saw her on screen briefly at one of the Hall of Fame inductions. What's her gig??

From what I recall reading, after EC played at his daughter's wedding, she sang and sounded pretty good.

Hopefully she is not hounded by the paparazzi . I wouldn't want to experience a bunch of idiotic photographers forever camping out on your doorstep hoping to catch you doing something human...

Not to change the subject but did everyone receive the new Guitar Center brochure with Clapton on the cover and the introduction of the Fender, Gibson and C.F. Martin E.C. guitar collection..?
Reading thru the Brownie section I was chuckling as Clapton is referring to Buddy holly as a great influence, but the amusing part is where E.C. is guessing that Holly was playing thru a Fender or Gibson amp .....
Now didn't B.Holly play thru Magnatone amps mostly :?: I find that Clapton not really knowing is cool, he's human just like the rest of us.... albeit a bit better of a guitar player and quite succesful as I hear....  8)

This is all new to me. :? Not to cast a disparaging light on anyone's tastes, but following the entertainment gossip through the various media sources has never been a past time of mine. ['Entertainment Tonight', 'Access Hollywood', and 'People' magazine, among others]
Of course, the Journal of Oral Medicine is not going to tell me much about Ruth Clapton, is it.

See the thread "Buddy Holly's Amps" posted on the Lounge Forum March 1st. We are such a clever bunch. 8)

I've been trying to get GC to send me the guitar publication. I've been receiving the 'live recording' every since I relocated. I called them in CA about three weeks ago and thought I had the matter resolved. They were supposed to send me a replaceement for the Feb issue. It never happened. It's a wonder they are still in business. I'm hoping to get down to the Hallandale store to check out their green tag sale, and talk to the manager.

From my perspective, he's been 'phoning it in' now for the past decade anyway.

Admittedly, it's difficult to watch your 'Heroes' dwindle... but such is Life !!

cheers!

I know we all have different tastes, but I'd like to 'phone it in' as well as Cream 2005 (to me, better than the original!) and this.............
