cheers!

I think Clapton has always been at his best when combined with equally talented musicians, Beck of course Baker and Bruce, Delaney and Bonnie.

To be fair there are some very good moments in the fairly recent past, the John Mayall 70th birthday, Jeff Beck's live at Ronnie Scott's and the Crossroads festivals..... Clapton plays quite well on some of the mixes.....
I would love to hear him do something with Vince Gill or Mark Knopfler.

He is definitely getting older and perhaps it is at a point when he needs a real break from the music, but he did that in the past and came back invigorated... Quite likely touring in huge venues is stale, but for my preference I always felt small venues are the best for any act. Regardless of their stature, a huge coliseum with 10's of thousands is just not what I consider an intimate musical experience..... On that note  I cherish a place like " The Narrows " in Fall River. A converted mill's top floor, limited seating for about 300, but I've recently seen some great music from Richie Havens to Savoy Brown to Johnny Winter, Pierre Bensusan although I missed Dickey Betts.

Then again these days you'd be more likely to find me at Yale listening to a recital or a chamber music quartet then at a Blues Jam or concert...

I never got to see him in concert. He will be here at the Hard Rock Live on the 29th & 30th of March but ticket prices are just crazy. I don't go to too many concerts anymore so I'm willing to pay for a good seat but not $1,400. The nosebleed seats are finally under $200 and there is one seat left in the 3rd row and it can be yours for just $1,724.00.

Won't be crossing this one off of my Bucket List this year.

I remember paying $6.50 to see Cream back in May of '68......took all of my weekly allowance money to buy the ticket.

Worth every farthing though!

200 for the cheap seats is crazy. Here in pgh I got my tickets for 90 a seat.

Yep ZZ_Doc, time well spent and let's do it again.

Our tickets for opening night in Phoenix were only $65 each. Of course when I add in the plane fare and hotel, it will be a pretty expensive concert. But it's something to do and look forward to.

He's as much admitted that in interview. He likes to be 'pushed'.

It's everything else you never had time for when you were employed but were able to get done regardless, and just as hurried as before.

There are five Forum mates down this a'way who were hot for the concert until Steve and I weighed the juice vs the squeeze on this one very carefully. We decided to pass. One of us will be in NYC for Crossroads but that's a special gig tied to his son's graduation from college. I'm waiting on the DVD's. Crossroads at MSG just had to wait until I moved out of NYC. Figures. :?

He was on his way into his substance abuse hiatus by then. His life could have had a completely different ending than the present.

The older you get the tougher it gets. Probably a good thing to stop the road tours in the future.

He could now be in the same band with Jimi Hendrix.
