Watched this vid from another thread and noticed something weird on DG's strat neck pickup, pause the vid at 3.56 is Dave just playing some practical joke getting folks twists in a knicker or is something going on here :?

I followed the video to the end using a play/pause. Starting from the point you cited, one gets the impression that he's got a piece of 'Scotch' tape laid across the cover but following it on to the end I'm of the impression that it's an optical illusion created by the studio lights and heavily scratched surface of the guitar. Have another look for yourself and see if you don't agree.

Yeah Doc I'll go with the Scotch tape ( is this a quick DG fix :? that alone is baffling, wondering if he had to pop into Guitar Centre to have a "tech" look at it...your guitar is ready now Mr Gilmour  ), only see the tape on that pole though the others seem clear enough, looks like a pin of sorts sticking out through the tape to me.

I don't know, if you full screen it and watch at 5:00, looks like a wire coming from the pole and running to the screw next to it. I took this screen shot at 5:00 to show the shiny part is above the pickup, if you watch the video, the shine moves with the camera shot as expected, looks like metal wire to me.

It does look like a wire going from the screw to the pole. its really clear at the 5:38 to 5:45 mark. Interesting. Gonna have to go see what that does on my strat now....off to the garage.

Looks to me like the off cut of an E string has got stuck to the pole piece. Probably when his tech changed the strings before the gig.

Probably, but why tape it in place (or are my eye's deceiving me) ...or.....is it some sort of heinous act perpetrated by none other than Roger Waters, could it infact be the tip off a blow dart dipped in a serum fabricated with the sole purpose of making DG pull those guitar face's, cause I've had to look away a few times myself, bit too Boris Karloff for my liking, get behind the couch tell me when he's gone.
