so yesterday would've been kurt's 46th birthday. wow. found this while random youtubing this morning. I dig it. not a big fan of Leto's music, but he seems very genuine and I like HIM for who he is. and his acting is great. someone should move forward with this. make a movie about kurt that doesn't suck like that garbage they put out a few years back. anyway, what do you think?

I don't understand if the guy in the video is the youtube uploader/filmmaker?

In any event, good song choice in the vid.

I'd be in favor of any movie that is factually based and features a lot of Kurt's actual music.

I'd like to see something better than the documentaries I saw :|

yeah, it looks like Jared uploaded it himself, its 30secondstomars youtube account.
That creepy gun van zant movie from a few years ago was awful. most of the documentaries are just regurgitations of the first couple of documentaries. I'd like to see an actual film about not only kurt, but the beginnings of nirvana... really recreate some of the things us nirvana fans have heard dave and krist talk about.... and some of the things kurt wrote about in his journals... there are so many good stories there to be told. i agree, i'd want some of the real music involved, but if you had a talented actor like Jared Leto doing the role, you could splice some real footage now and again and it'd be seamless. i think. maybe someday someone will do it justice.

Was Kurt Cobain's life interesting enough to base a movie on? I know he changed the scene and all but....

As long as Courtney Love doesn't profit from it, I think it would be cool.

When I first saw it, I thought it was that douchebag from that tribute band who's wasting his life.
Nirvana's just one of those contreversial bands that if they make a movie about it today, all the wankers and possers (excatly the kind who they didn't like listening to their music in the first place) would start listening to their music cause they heard of how big they were in the 90's and the 'tragic' ending of them. As much as I'd like to see a decent documentary about Nirvana, and as much as I deeply respect and like them, I think releasing kurts journals to the public was enough. I'm sure he'd absoluley love that idea

that's a very good point, riley. yeah, when the journals came out i was kind of sick about the whole thing. i mean... $@!&. but then it occurred to me that as much as it sucks, and as much as i'm sure kurt would've been mortified to think of such things happening... if the idiot general public is going to read it, so am i....
and dalembic, i have this theory that pretty much everyone in the world is very interesting. i've never watched a documentary on anyone and thought to myself "man he was boring"
but, especially musicians and artists.... i love stuff like that. if i were in charge of getting such a film made though, i'd be sure to keep it centered on the first couple of years when things were really exciting. none of the negativity from the last couple of years. everyone knows THAT story. not a lot of coverage out there for the underground years. just my thoughts.
