I live in a Condo Bldg. w/ 16 other Condos. I've noticed that the AC power really isn't very 'clean' as the power to all the units comes from a single feed, likely sharing a single ground as well.

At different times of day, other owners here can be running a variety of appliances, from Vacuum Cleaners, Fans, Dishwashers, Disposals, Washer/Dryers, Blowdryers, Blenders, Food Processors, etc. This causes noticable noise from my Amps, at times so 'dirty' that I cannot push the Gain at all.

I looked into some Power Cleaners/Conditioners and most seem very good, but they were all several hundred dollars.

Then I found this little Powercenter from Monster:

Technically for Flatscreen TVs and Home Theatre Audio Systems, it offered Surge Protection (1,440 Joules), Stage 1 Clean Power Filtering, LED indicators for Surge, Clean Power and Clean Ground plus 3 side outlets and a compact size. At the very least I thought a more regulated power supply would be more friendly to my gear and aid in a long service life (esp. Tube Amps). Best part, it is less than $20. Figured for $20, I really couldn't lose so I got one.

This thing really works ! I can now turn the Gain on my Amps all the way without the slightest hum and the equipment is now power-regulated and surge protected as well.

If you're having any of the issues with your AC power I described above, I highly recommend looking into this gadget.

Get it at: http://www.amazon.com/Monster-HTS300-3- ... B001DW03B0

cheers!

I looked at quite a few Furmans and they're excellent units, but pretty pricey.

cheers!
