C&W artist Mindy McCready assumed room temperature this evening after eating her gun outside of her home......

http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/mus ... 2emo6.html

Her "Ten Thousand Angels" debut album from 1996 featured some of the most tasteful guitar work I've ever heard.

She was pretty. She was talented. And now she's gone.

Tragic.

People think that these stars have everything going for them because of the fame, riches and adulation they get.Unfortunately for some of them, all of this brings pressure that they can't cope with and they go into a deep depression because they feel that there's no way out but to take their own lives. To tell the truth I wasn't familiar with her at all but I still feel for her.The young woman who people thought was on top of the world must have been saddled with all kinds of personal problems and probably didn't have any true friends that she could confide in and like a lot of stars was surrounded by hangers on and sycophants who fed on her fame.Anyway the personal demons that haunted her and drove her to end her life, are not going to bother her any more and she is in God's care now.

Wow ...  That was totally unnecessary to voice her demise in such a callous manner.
I really don't know who she was, or much of her music, but no one deserves that....

From the short NPR report I heard this morning it is quite apparent that her's was a life troubled with substance abuse and an inability to cope with the loss of her boyfriend a month prior.
It's very likely that someone on this Forum knew her or her family or may have been involved in her music....

I can understand being stern and reprimanding with someone with a substance abuse issue, but vilifying them after their death doesn't serve any purpose..
Only to give the impression that we on this Forum are a bunch of Idiots .....

Arjay .... :? I expect better from you ....

it should be noted that she was a musician and she had kids. Once you post something here, it stays, so years down the line her kids (who had a musician mom) might become musicians, join the Fender forums, and read this here. You might want to edit these posts (including where it was quoted and discussed).

My first thought after reading the OP was that Arjay's account must have been hacked. The eating her gun line was also crude IMO. Glad someone called it out. This is very sad news, especially for her kids.

For those who have difficulty grasping the unvarnished truth and who found my comments "crude", "callous", "tacky", etc, get a grip -- there will be no apology. Few of you even knew of Mindy and even less gave a damn about her.

I agree, a very insensitive comment for a tragic story like that.

Nevertheless....Varnished or unvarnished truth, it's just not necessary.
It's quite evident that here is/was a person that was completely unable to function in the pressure cooker of popularity.
I really wonder sometimes where the manager's and supposedly responsible adults are when so many of these star's are pretty much in a world which has overwhelmed their own sensibilities..

Sad really, much of the press after Whitney Houston's death wasn't very pleasant either.
But hey they are all dispensable and only there for our own salicious pleasures...

That's not the point. There are things you just don't do and that was one of them; making a comment like that on someone's passing.

Crass and insensitive. :(
