My first post I made in these forums was deleted. I looked at the rules and dont understand what the reason for deletion was. I was reporting a company that makes cheap fender knock-offs hoping that a fender rep would see the post. I have participated in various forums for 10 years or so, and that is the first post I have ever had deleted. I clicked on the user-name for a fender admin and did not find the PM option. Anyone know how to report these things to fender quickly and easily?

I noticed that post gone too. If you feel it was deleted by accident try this:

ForumAdmin@Fender.com

You're hitting us at a bad time wherein we've just endured several days' worth of "trolling" by malicious user(s), so I'll be the first to admit that my trigger finger is admittedly a bit itchier than normal.

Your particular post was appreciated and I've already forward your report along to our Legal department for investigation. That said, it's not really appropriate here because it puts us in a position of liability -- (i.e., "We're a legit organization but you are allowing folks to state otherwise on your forums!")

So ... in summary, I appreciate the report but in the future please send stuff like that directly to our consumer relations department (consumerrelations@fender.com) rather than posting it here. Thanks much and again, we appreciate the report!

I am not sure I understand the liability that I may have caused this forum, I am not an attorney. I am happy, however, that my post served my desired purpose of bringing this corporation to the attention of fender, so, thank-you. As I was writing in an e-mail (that I will no longer send) I am a staunch defender of both intellectual property rights and copyrights. Companies such as the one I posted about here disgust me, and to be honest, I have very little use for those that buy or use products from these type of companies. Anyway, thank-you again for forwarding the post to the appropriate department and have a good day.

Much appreciated, and thanks again for the report! Knockoffs and fakes are an incessant problem in this industry so we certainly appreciate any help we can get.

I'd be real surprised (REAL SURPRISED) if the good folks at Fender didn't already know about the various websites (and eBay sellers) in China selling counterfeits.

There has been at least one other thread at this forum this year that discussed the fakes and even mentioned the "company" that you linked.

Ebay has had warnings to buyers about buying these knock-offs.

Many of the knock-offs are laughably bad, but to the inexperienced eye they may look like a great deal. I have noticed some counterfeits are improving ... to where even experienced "fenderholics" might be fooled.

These warnings need to be repeated!

that is so true, and older man i know gave me what he thought was a 62 tele, and it was lefthanded, well it wasnt a fender, it was an 80's tokai, with a fender decal. Not cool, when i sold it i advertised it as such. .People need to educate them selves so they dont get cheated

For some reason, I've never trusted Ebay. I prefer to buy my guitars new, anyway. Every scratch, dent, etc, I know that I was the one that did it. I know the whole history of that guitar.
