Did a search for "couch", and didn't find one of these here yet... so, I figured I'd bring over a thread idea from the PRS forum I also post at. Simple idea, let your guitars/basses have a seat, and snap a group shot!

I'll start... here's the gang!

Image

Top row, left to right:

My daughter's Mahala Flying V uke,
2013 Gibson LP Bass - Cherry Burst,
2012 Gibson LP Bass - Goldtop,
2012 Fender Jazz Bass - Antigua Burst,
2005 Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass - Black,
2012 Squier Vintage Modified 5 string Jazz Bass - Natural,
Ibanez Gio bass - Red,
2012 Dean acoustic bass - Natural

Bottom row, left to right:

My son's Jay Turser "Shark",
2002 PRS Cu22 - Cherry Burst,
2011 PRS SE Singlecut - Antique White/custom Pink Floyd deco,
Counterfeit Gibson LP Custom - Green,
Ibanez Jet King - Metallic Orange/custom aluminum pickguards,
Fender MIM Strat - satin blue/silver,
Dean Exotica Acoustic - Natural Quilted Ash

And of course, my daughter had to play Guitar World Buyer's Guide model, LOL!

Image

She wanted to lay on the couch in the middle of them, but I vetoed that idea... too much potential for damage to her, the guitars, or both. :(

Two guitars missing from this pic but here's my couch:

Looks like we have the same carpet.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

There are a couple of posters here that make it difficult for me to take them seriously. No Telecasters????

I don't have a couch.

I had a Tele once, the headstock had a crack in it so I sold it to a guy who was looking for a project body. I'll eventually get another one, just haven't found "the one" yet. 90% of my guitar playing time is spent on the PRS anyway, most of the others were impulse buys. I only recently started playing bass in the last year or so, but I've got way more money tied up in basses than I do guitars, though I've been playing guitar for 20 years now. The Gibsons are both new, so they're getting the love right now... but I am rather fond of the Jazz Basses too... The original plan was to replace the J's with the LP basses, but I may just end up keeping them all. The couch is a sectional after all, I have 2 more full cushions to fill, LOL!

No Telecasters. And no regrets. Whatsoever. That guitar does nothing for me.

Well, he rarely messes with it, but he has Asperger's syndrome, so he tends to focus on one or two things exclusively... right now it's Skylanders and Pokemon, lol... as for the guitar though, it's not bad for an interesting kid's guitar. The tuning peg layout is a little weird, but not too bad once you get used to it. It's neck heavy like a champ on a strap, but it's actually really comfortable sitting down, bewcause of the shape of the bottom "fin". your leg rests right in the curve of the fin, putting the guitar in proper playing position... I'm sure that's no accident. It came with a cheapie little mini-amp, and of course the general crappy cord. I threw a chrome covered pickup in it that I had laying around from an old Epiphone Les Paul, which was a bit of an upgrade from the stock one, but I did it mainly for looks. The stock pickup worked fine for a beginner, no need to upgrade until you want to go out and play live, at which point a little bit more of a "serious" guitar wouldn't be a bad idea. Bridge and tuners are on par with entry level Squire stuff... not bad, not great. For $100, it's not a bad deal for a kid who wants to learn guitar. It's unique enough to keep thier interest, but it's not so "out there" as to be difficult to play. Even standing up and using a strap, it's not much worse than an explorer or an SG as far as the neck heaviness goes. It's pretty light, too. I'd reccomend it.

I have a couch, but I'm on it. :D

...and I'm just too lazy to gather them all together for a group shot...so just imagine my avatar pic x 4....add 3 synths, a bass and 6 amps...then the recording area with something like this:

Nice! (Finally, I'm not the only PRS owner here anymore, LOL! )

What pickups do you have in the SE Singlecut? They look like hum sized P-90s, but what brand/model?

I dig the white strat too... classy! :D
