In all fairness, O.P.'s question was regarding an artists motivation for using DADGAD, not asking for a description of what it sounds like.

Would you not agree that the OP has the opportunity to put himself in Dan Auerbach's musical shoes, so to speak... if he could just get round to tuning three strings?

More importantly... Congrats on hitting 1000 posts and getting your 4th pick! 8)
