Wouldn't Ravi be like the Slash equivalent here? Can someone get Ravi a top hat and proper attitude please? ;)

The one I'm looking forward to is

http://www.guitarrising.com/

Quote:
Guitar Rising is a music video game where the player plays a real guitar as cued by the game’s visuals. Following rock music sequences and streaming notes, players play guitar melodies and rhythms. Beginner difficulty levels are designed for non-guitar players and hard difficulties will challenge experienced guitarists.

Product to be released in late 2008.

Watch the video on the guitarrising website and then this one when the game was shown at the Game Developer Conference:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2z1iXUDLEE

It's been mentioned on various gadget websites - being able to play a real guitar looks like a better idea to me, YMMV. It's a game, not a teaching tool from what I see - but it might be a lot of fun.

PC and Mac, it seems to be able to use either a direct cable or any available audio interface. No word on consoles yet.
