I think I just spent the best 5 bucks ever. So much fun and works great with my iRig. Currently writing my first "song" with it. Anyone here tried it?

Yes - I've used it, but now with Auria which is compatible with AudioBus (GB isn't) - I'm finding that apps compatible with AudioBus are really easy to use together.

http://audiob.us/

Garageband for iOS is still a lot of fun to use though and if you
have a friend with it, try bluetooth and you can record together on a song.

One of my friends, David Israel, runs a blog on all kinds of iOS music apps - very good information :

Have fun!

Thanks for the links! That audiobus seems like a killer app!

Here's a list of all the audiobus compatible apps (so far!)

http://www.iosmusician.com/2012/12/list ... iobus.html

Wish Apple would sign on, but seems unlikely.

Last night I spent a few hours just tweaking and adding stuff to my recording. Added some smart drums and created a bassline with the touch-bass. It's a silly song but my wife thinks she sounds good and she's happy to see me get creative. I think she's biased hahaha!

Only thing I wish it had was more time signatures. It only has 4/4, 3/4, and 6/8.

Oh yeah glad they're going to support ampkit, I really like that app. Good high gain tones.

I use DM-1 and it has no limits.

I have a cool metronome app where you can make up your own time signature. Doesn't get any more flexible than that!

So if I share the crappy song I'm writing you guys promise not to point and laugh? lol

I haven't really used it for recording, but it's my emergency practice rig when I'm traveling! It really makes me wish I had an iPad though, it's doable with my phone but having something the size of a computer screen sure would be nice.

The "smart strings" on Garageband have a variety of cool ways to use them (individual, sections, quartets, etc) and the rate adjustment control gives some very cool fills.

I'll eventually give them a shot!

Just got the iRig yesterday to hook up with Garage Band on my iPad. Not too much success yet - very noisy! And the software (Amplitube for Fender) has only one amp and not that much else that I have been able to sort out yet.

I was hoping to be able to loop with it. Any tips Mike?

Gridlok :)
