Hello, I joined the Fender Forums over the weekend and was immediately struck by the community of like-minded guitar nuts!

My story is similar to some other new members. I played in bar bands in my teens and early twenties, covering Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and the like. University, marriage, family and career happened, and one day my three year-old son found my acoustic guitar case in the basement storeroom and said "daddy, what's that?" I pulled it out and started playing for him, then I started playing for me, then I decided I needed an electric again, then another, and the saga continues...

Now, I've found a songwriting/playing partner, we've played one gig together, and look forward to many more as well as recording some original indie-rock tunes we're working on.

Enjoying the threads I've followed so far, found some great tips and stories, glad I joined the community!

Welcome to the forum Cnbrown 75,we're always glad to have another guitar obsessed member to the forum.A lot of guys on the forum write and perform their own compositions and often post them or provide links to their Youtube MySpace sites etc. I look forward to listening to some of your compositions and seeing your guitars and other gear.Cheers.

When I first started playing Led Zep wasn't a band yet. We even played a few Ventures tunes. Glad to hear you rediscovered your musical self. I just did myself this past year. Amps like the Mustang l made it cheap and easy to get hooked again. With all the money I used to spend on drugs and alcohol, this habit is a bargain. Can't metabolize my new gear.

No cable TV bill either. Another waste of money.

Ah yes..."Walk Don't Run" another link in the chain of the game.."Be the first one in the neighborhood to learn the guitar solo."
Then there were "Rawhide"; 'Rumble'', "Sleepwalk" among others.
