1. Irrelevant.

2. Black keys album released in dec 2011. BS. They should not be able to have their cake and eat it too.

I predict the Grammy's for jazz will be awarded during the day and go un-televised.

The Academy's year runs from Oct 2011 to Sep 2012. It counts.

I doubt very much that anyone who truly earned or deserves one will get it,I'm beginning to think that the Grammys like induction to the RRHOF and the Rolling Stone awards,it all boils down to whoever is the most physically attractive or whoever has the best PR people behind them.Ive become so disillusioned by all of these awards that I'm convinced that they are all a big farce.I haven't watched any of these programs for many years because so many acts that aren't even remotely rock orientated have been admitted to the RRHOF while truly deserving great rock acts have been shunned repeatedly for many years.

I watch less and less as the years go by. Lasted maybe 40 minutes, the usual rapper drek (can you keep your hand off your crotch yo?) and then the gawd-awful "fun dot" guy screaming like a 12 year old girl - yuck. 2014 May be the year I don't turn it on at all.

The show was good. Jack White, the Black Keys, Tom Morello, Sting (during a Marley tribute -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e6eo6xwug4), and more all tore it up. Even the rap thing at the end had Morello on guitar tearing it up and that punk drummer guy who's awesome (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfIC31g3frA -- drumming at 1:08 of this is "wicked").

Even the pop stuff had live instruments on stage (e.g., Taylor Swift).

It was a good show. Worth watching. Tribute to Dave Brubeck.

There was a ton of live instrument playing. Guitars, pianos, electric, acoustic.

Sure there's a lot of pop, but I think rock music gets plenty of attention and pre-judging it and saying otherwise is just grumpiness.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks8jU8-ejXk (watch Jack throw his beautiful blue Tele at the end !!! -- he got fired up)

Black Keys played with a huge jazz band (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EYeG4rqyR8).

The only thing that sucked was "fun." They are a horrid excuse for a band.

Overall, the industry is still suffering a little bit from forgetting what Kurt Cobain taught us.
