The Phantom of the Opera has been awarded numerous awards etc and its total gross is over 5.6 BILLION dollars.

..And here's the reason why I hate him and his idiotic opera.

PLAGIARISM :x :x :x :x :x

P.S this guy isn't me but nice video!

other examples:

I would like to finish of with some nice words regarding this issue from Roger Waters:

Yeah, the beginning of that bloody Phantom song is from Echoes. *DAAAA-da-da-da-da-da*. I couldn't believe it when I heard it. It's the same time signature—-it's 12/8—-and it's the same structure and it's the same notes and it's the same everything. Bastard. It probably is actionable. It really is! But I think that life's too short to bother with suing Andrew #$@*&!% Lloyd Webber.

And with some lyrics from his "It's a Miracle" album:

We cower in our shelters
With our hands over our ears
Lloyd-Webber's awful stuff runs for years
And years and years and years and years

An earthquake hits the theater
But the operetta lingers
Then the piano lid comes down
Breaks his #$@*&!% fingers
It's a miracle

Meh. Lloyd Webber's famous plagiarisms run far deeper than that. Everyone knows; Andrew doesn't care.

And Waters didn't sue because he'd already done rather well himself out of those five notes and probably didn't feel like spending it all on lawyers to no useful purpose.

If you care about Moral High Ground then Lloyd Webber is miles from it. But he's shown no interest whatsoever in the high ground: for some odd reason he's more concerned with being a multi- multi-millionaire. Go figure.

Cheers - C

Years ago they interviewed Roger Waters about it. He was not very kind to Webber. He said Webber wasn't worth suing. Waters seemed more angry as he stated that, Webber didn't even change the time signature. Pink Floyd's "Echoes" from the Meddle album is a masterpiece in itself. Meddle, not bad for October, 1971. One of these days.
