why the #$%^ do you have to be over 21 :( :( :(

Because Fender can't take responsibility for putting a minor up in a hotel room all alone. Fender can't be responsible for a minor on a factory tour. No company could offer overnights and tours for minors. The liability is enormous.

P.S. Ooops. I see poorboys question was removed as I was answering it.

No worries -- we're very proud of Fender University and the profanity in poorboy's question was highly unnecessary. Regardless, the question of why the event is not open for registration by minors is a fair one and you've answered it nicely, so I appreciate it!

You guys should be proud of Fender University. It's a great idea.

Had I gotten 6 out of 6 on the lottery instead of 5 out of 6 I would enroll. I wish I could afford it.... even though I only have 7 months on the guitar. It sounds like something I would like to do. Oh well.... they have the lottery 104 times a year.
