Gosh, that's the sort of question that used to make my head hurt in philosophy seminars early every Tuesday morning, back in student days. I'm sure Immanuel Kant had something to say on the subject - but I was too hungover to take it in...

Hello RDog, welcome to the Forum.

Again.

Two possibilities. Either it's a disjuncture in the time-space continuum causing that pesky doppelganger universe to leak in again.

Or you don't remember the previous time you signed up for the Forum, due to disgraceful excesses the night before. One sympathises.

Cheers - C

My thoughts exactly.

RDog, you're not a Kiwi, are you?

(Welcome, BTW)

Or as Rene Descartes said - "I drink, therefore I am".

(I can't take credit for that line...)

What you CAN take credit for is "I am, therefore I drink." Definitely...'Cheers.'

Any Mods have an answer? or idea? For the record this is my third post by ME the one and hopefully only Rdog..oh yeah for some reason it automatically capitolizes the "d: to "D"..not my doing

Look at the bottom of the forum page:

"All times are UTC - 4 hours"

If the current UTC time is 8:44 PM, my clock here in NY says it's 3:45 PM.

Since the forum displays UTC-4 and New York is UTC-5, the forum will always tell me I posted 1 hour in the future. See what I mean?

RDog, at some point in the future you will discover a small wormhole just large enough for a person to jump through. Curiosity will get the best of you and you'll leap without knowing what is on the other side. You'll wind up in 2009 in front of a computer but you will only be there for about an hour before somebody finds you out. The aliens who discover you are not where you're supposed to be will do a fantastic job of erasing your memory before they put you back where you belong but they will miss several clean-up items that you leave behind in the past, one of which is a membership on this board. It is a sub-surface residual trace imprint of this forum that was left in the recesses of your memory that has lead you here a second time. It couldn't be helped. One of the hazards of time travel. Apparently, some time between now and when you find the phenomenon you will decide that your long time internet handle of Rdog should have two capitals at the front and that's why you registered it that way in the past from the future.

I hope that clears everything up for you.
