Hi Alan!

I too haven't been about these parts much recently... might catch up on a few bits this weekend.

Hope your feeling better, mate!

Messing around with a Saab is always a good excuse.

Got a 9-5 Aero myself which always requires plenty of tinkering.

It's great to hear from you Alan,I was wondering what you've been up to. I've always like Saabs, especially the older ones that swept the rally circuits in the 60s-they were real stormers.I've always lusted for a Sabb Sonnnet,I think that they were one of the most striking looking cars made, right up there with the Lancia Stratos,Ferrari/Fiat 246 Dino and the '62-'64 Ferrari 250 GTO.

hi , yes i'm all recovered from the shingles now :D thanks for asking guys ,
Vulpinity you can't beat the aero's , the new 95 is a 1999 se lpt (well was) , so far it's had aero suspension and brakes , a stage one remap (185 bhp up to 235 and 300 odd nm torque) tdo4 aero turbo and some nice shiney forge bits , actuator and recirc bov , it's now running nicely 8) and your right mate they do need some tinkering  what year is yours ?
Guitslinger , how's things mate ? the old sonnet was a looker alright and for it's tme it did indeed rival some ferrari and others stylings , when i was a boy it was the 900 turbo that used to wow me , and i drove them for about 18 years  (told you i liked them) her's my old souped up 900 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4BDYRATyrw , every time i hear that i want to build another  and here's my engine getting another new gearbox :) and yes it is shiney 8) Image
, cheers
Alan

Mine is an '01 Aero HOT, only a nice basic Stage 1 at the moment, mostly as I've had to fix a pile of things on it recently. If the reserve fuel light came on and you put fuel in, it dropped the car into limp home mode. Very odd. Also had to rewire the loom going to the bootlid, as is the norm on the 9-5!

I've had a few Saabs over the years - mostly GM900s and 9-3s. Always wanted an Aero and this one came up for silly money locally, so I had to have it. There's nothing quite like the overtaking oomph of a tweaked Saab.

Wow Alan she certainly sounds potent.I wish I had the mechanical savy to restore classic cars. There is an old early 50s Jag Saloon in Gander Newfoundland that's just sitting, uncovered in a guy's front garden and every time I go out that way I have to drive by and see if the old gal is still there. It actually makes me heartsick to see such a classic left to the elements like that.
