@ Jackdragbean:Congrats for getting a Morley at such a great price.I bought an old Morley Power Wah many years ago for pretty cheap too and it's one of the first ones issued.Although it works great I was never really happy with the wah sound of it because it was too pronounced and agressive.Do you know if the optics of these pedals are adjustable too and if so could give me some pointers or send me a link please? Thanks.

Although this isn't gear that I bought it is the most recent that I've acquired.I recently won a pile of mostly Planet Waves accessories and strings from a contest that Vintage Guitar Magazine put off.The prize included 10 sets of D'Addario 10-46 string,a Planet Waves Headstock Tuner,A Custom Series 15 ft Planet Waves Instrument Cable,A Planet Waves Guitar Rest,A dozen Planet Waves Guitar Picks,a Planet Waves String Winder/Cutter and a Vintage Guitar Magazine Foam drink can cooler.

I just picked up a Zoom RT 323 drum and bass sequencer. Just seemed like a fun litttle toy to give me backing music to play along to.

$75 off of CL.

Fender Mustang I amp two weeks ago. I haven't messed with the amp models yet, was mostly looking for a practice amp that I could plug ear phones into. It's doing a good job so far.

Yes, as far as I know, all of the Morleys are adjustable. Here's a Youtube video regarding it. Your pedal may not look like this, but it all works the same. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVGTq-moRGk

Hope it helps! If you have any questions, just let me know! It can make a ton of difference. You just have to keep adjusting it until you get what you want.

Thanks Jackdragbean, that's very much appreciated. That pedal is much like mine but mine is wah only but the concept would be the same anyway.

And I just picked these up...should be here any day now...

These are the fairly rare (at least nowadays) CTS Ceramic 10 inch speakers...guy has em miss labled...will make some great spares for my 65 BFSR!

Wow those Bantams are scarce amps and super-rare with the original Yamaha trapezoid white Styrofoam speaker. In fact possibly non-existent with the original speaker in working shape. When new they were very good sounding at showroom level but the freaky trapezoid Styrofoam speakers were not very durable and most wound up with a replacement baffle inserted for 1x15 round speaker or 2x10's as replacements became harder and more expensive to obtain until they became impossible to find.

That amp was a real find!

Brother Dave...This is the second one I have refurbed, the other one, also a 69 I stuffed with a '65 15 inch Jensen Concert Speaker with new baffle and it is one smoking guitar amp now...and the latest one had a working Yamaha speaker in it and to try something different I went with those Jensen MODs of the 12 inch variety. It was tight in there but they fit with no issues. This past two winters I have used these two amps as projects to work on with my son. We have fun, learn a bit about vintage amps and wood working and it makes the winter go by faster!

There is another Bantam for sale in my local area with a working speaker too, but he wants too much for it. They may be rare, but around here, they seem to turn up every six months or so!

And now back to your regularly scheduled postings...

I recently returned two guitar purchases to Guitar Center so that I could come back home with this:

Image

My duo partner had been bugging me for months to try one of these out, so I finally did try one they had set up at GC. I liked it a lot, hence the guitars that I returned for credit.

Image

I bought the L1 Compact, which with $100 Instant Rebate, brought the price down to a serious $899. GC had all three versions of the BOSE system, but the second was $2,000 to $2,500 and the top of the line came in at $3,500 to $4,000, depending on whether or not you bought the Control Pad, $500 by itself. Both of the higher end models required purchase of a separate sub - heavier and one more thing to carry around.

Image

I settled on the L1 Compact for several reasons. First, the price - even for a musician, that was a no-brainer. Second was the I didn't have to pay $500 for a sub - the L1 has the sub built into the base. And third was the larger array of inputs, far superior to the higher priced models which really require the $500 Control Module to make the dang things work.

I have played out with this BOSE system a number of times now and I have to give it a major thumbs-up! Breaks down nicely for carrying (and nice covers), weighs almost nothing and sounds great. What's not to like? For a solo performer, which I am most of the time, it's perfect. I've also been using the RCA outputs direct to a digital recorder to record my live shows.

My last two acquisitions were pedals:

Black Cat Super Fuzz
Wilson Effects Haze Vibe

Love them both but that was last May (my last month of good earnings) and I'm overdue. Had a Dean Boca 12-string in my hands last week. I was surprised by the build quality for so little money . . . unfortunately little money is all I have at the moment so no 12-string.

Bought a used Biyang Mouse on a whim this afternoon for £20 - stock sound is awful, but change one resistor and it's one of the best Rat-style pedals money can buy, so well worth a try.

Took all of five minutes between getting home and having it stripped down on the bench with a soldering iron warming up.
