Hello all,

I got a black Fender Electro acoustic guitar for Christmas, and I have bought an amp. When the 9v battery that powers the integrated tuner etc goes flat, the guitar won't play through the amp. Is this normal?

(sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am quite new to this guitar malarkey....loving it though!!!)

Yes, of course it's normal.
You have an active preamp in your guitar, which is powerd by the battery and which delivers the pre-amped signal to the amp.

No battery, no sound via amp. Perfectly normal!

ExTend Battery Life by not leaving the cord plugged into the Guitar. This acts as a On/Off switch.

cheers!
