Dude, get smug much? I don't need a condescending unilateral lecture about what constitutes "freehand". When did you come up with your own definition? I spent most of my life drawing freehand by your definition. Why is drawing with a mouse any different than drawing with a pencil? If I had drafted it on a drafting board it would still be freehand or at least hand drawn. I drew the entire design in AutoCAD which is merely an electronic drawing board but even with that all the curved elements were drawn freehand with a mouse. You seem to think that I merely pushed some buttons on a computer and it generated the image for me, but every single line and curve on there was done painstakingly by hand.

Hey kbean,
i understand that this has been directed at magnatone, and its evident that you were offended by magnatone's comments, however this thread can only go oneway and thats downhill. Given that Brad's already locked your other thread, to create a new one that picks up on where the old one leaves off will likely just result in a banning.
Trying to be a voice of reason, it may be easier to just let it go.
Ray

This starts getting pathetic and annoying. :(
Solve the problem you seem to have by discussing it per PM.
Please stop boring us by spamming the board, kbean. It's senseless and most probably an inconvenient bumerang for you.

Let it rest as is, at least in public, okay?

In alot of ways I think drawing on a computer is much harder than drawing with pencil.

I can get a rough sketch of someones face with a pencil. But I can't get it on a PC.

Just sayin'...

Use a USB drawing board! It's like drawing on paper with a pencil .... almost.
With a mouse it's a PITA!

It's an ugly situation indeed when creative people get into a slanging match about the integrity of their art.
Very sad.
Goodonya ...Mark.

Thank You..... KBEAN ...
I now have the honor of having a thread dedicated to me ......
I'm not going to get into a Flame Fest with you on freehand drawing semantics.
It's rather Pointless and irrelevant to anything other than your original thread's theme of being a victim.
What I will insist on is that you are the one that came on like gangbusters wanting us to side with you on a matter where you yourself stepped way over the line.
As you are once again repeating here with this further nonsense.
I said what I had to say in the now locked thread. I didn't mention your claim of handicapped victim which is in itself quite Smug ( to use your own wording ) since confirming your physical state is beyond the capabilities herein.

It's unfortunate you feel that you are the one that was offended, your perception of this Fender Forum world is rather skewed.
We all have to abide by certain rules and etiquette here on this Forum and when we overstep our bounds, we get called on it. If this is unpleasant or offensive to you then perhaps another Forum would be better suited for your nonsense.
I have goofed in the past and have been rebuked for it. So I'm not above it all, far from it...

What I have never done is to plagiarize someone else's creations for a commercial venture and then cried foul when caught  .... And then went to that company's Forum and denounced them publicly for my own screw up.
That's really not professional ....

I think Brad pretty much spelled it out in your locked thread. If you have an issue with what I responded then you can PM Brad and voice your complaint. If I overstepped then I'm quite sure Brad will tell me. As far as PM'ing back and forth on a scorched earth mandate, I'm not interested nor will I respond.
You made your public spiel, I like other's responded in a manner that I believed was appropriate, if (again) you felt offended then I suggest that you infuse a bit of objectivity in your reassessment of your locked thread and it's storyline ...

This Forum needs productive members who interact with the Fender Forum's music related themes, another Internet Malcontent is not a welcome addition.
So " Great " and " Welcome " if you are on here with good musical related topics, posts and whatever else moves this in an enjoyable manner, but if you are intent on repeating the Diss. thread then please remain silent and/or move on ...

I'm done ....

How can anybody attack Magnatone?

Honest, helpful, straightforward without being too prickly and a unique perspective.

To the OP: you should have handled this by private/personal message. Your (baseless) beef with Fender (face it, you ripped off the Fender Jazz Bass copyright twice--especially with the playing card design) has made you a bit sensitive toward Fender (and perhaps Forumites in general) because they/we didn't support your theft.

The playing card design was cool, by the way--it just needed to be a bit less plagiaristic.

Some people don't have any class.

They invented Harmony Central for those...

So if the op had done the playing card without the fender logo would that have been ok?

I see people doing fender type guitar shapes all the time in artwork and nothing seems to happen to them?

So is it just 'cos of the logo?

It was probably "mostly" because of the logo...if he had softened the lines of the headstock and removed the logo, he could possibly claimed "generic bass guitar"...but using was basically amounts to an exact copy (look, lines and logo) of a Jazz Bass wasn't gonna slip by the lawyers.
