Thanks Rollie, I had the guitar parts going through my head all day Saturday, so I stayed up and recorded them in the middle of the night. I ran out of talent about 2 a.m. I may need to bring DG in on this one. I wonder if he'll take my call? 8)

Not so much time spent on this Forum these days - lots of work and musical projects. This is a tune a friend wrote in the early 90s , which we recorded occasionally in the last weeks. This was done by email and FB :o at separate locations . My friend on his PC/cubase , and me with Mac/logic. Not much traces of Fender here ( a Squier JB ) The only electric was in fact my Danelectro baritone. And I think my friend did a good job gluing it all together :D
Sadly for most of you, the language used is norwegian :( -but it is a sad song about autumn and death . Chorus translated :
‘’ The last words she said , was : We will meet again - but the one thing I did not understand was -where ? ‘’

Hope you enjoy :D

In fact we played this as a spontanous extra at our gig saturday :-D

Very cool - would be a nice soundtrack for a film!

I was experimenting with panning on this one:

Nothing special, but I liked the stereo mix.

Works for me even with not understanding the lyrics. It adds another layer of mystery to the song. Nice job.

Thank you for the kind words , guys ! I must say I enjoyed this project. Kinda different.

I liked your Stereo Separations , Mike ! I have to listen more to your tracks (goes for Drew aswell, had a brief listen to some nice tones :D )

Thanx! I've been listening to most of the uploads from here. I prefer the SoundClick player though.

SoundClick streams audio back at either "Hi Fi" or "Lo Fi" depending on what the listener selects. The "Lo Fi" is really bad, so most don't select it, but the "Hi Fi" is standard 160kbps mp3.

SoundCloud on the other hand transcodes all audio and then streams it back at 128kbps. 128kbps is noticeable enough, but their transcoding makes things even worse. They even admit it MAY cause artifacts in the music. And it does, their transcoding adds a lot of artifacts to tracks with a lot of high frequency activity and heavy compression.

On another forum they recorded the streams of 1 of my tracks uploaded to Soundclick & Soundcloud and it proved that Soundcloud had indeed added artifacts to it.

SoundCloud seems to be tied in with all of the social networking sites as well as Android and iOS recording apps so many get directed there...but hey...whatever floats yer boat, so to speak.

I agree Mike. I have both SoundClick and SoundCloud accounts and I like the SoundClick player and what I hear there much better. Unfortunately the user interface is not at all intuitive. I only opened the SoundCloud account because that seems to be what everyone uses. If I could only figure out how to delete all of the streamed files they sent me and are cluttering up my dashboard at SoundCloud.

Yeah, I agree with your not intuitive interface comment, but I've been there almost 10 years now and have it down pretty good. Feel free to PM me if any particuliar issues or help you need.

One of the plus features of SoundCloud is you can upload .WAV files and the premium account doesn't count megabytes, but minutes. You have a certain amount of minutes you can upload and downloads are the pure .WAV files.

I've seen more cover songs posted at SoundCloud and I'd bet that a lot of them don't have the HFA license. SoundClick supposedly checks these and
sometimes asks for the license #. Not sure what/if SoundCloud allows. I was directed there from another guy (iOS Musicians) and found many Android and iOS apps offer uploads direct to SoundCloud.

In the end, I guess it's whatever you prefer...kinda like gear.

Here's one I'm working on. I keep adding weird noises then listening back and removing them, maybe all I'm really happy with is the drum track and the bass line but I had fun working the pitch shift so yeah, here it is so far. Definitely work in progress.
