Soundcloud is the best place to store brainfarts! I liked the way that felt a bit dangerous but still restrained. Hihats drove me mental though!

Tempo-matched delay! I like it. Pan it around a bit, sounds like there's three guitars playing on each track. Lovely stuff.

only 2 guitars, 1 70% left dry with the verb in the right channel,
and 1 guitar on the right 70% pretty much dry. then added the solo separate track.
it took me a while to find something i liked, but still not 100% happy.
the drums are programmed, and i'm very new to it.. had it maybe a month and a 1/2,
still learning. i also started playing bass about the same time..
so i'm very limited to my Bass runs.. I try to just stay in the pocket to fill it up.

Thanks you the nice words guys.

Every time this thread gets bumped I get motivated to record. Been working on the "acoustic riff" and it's now turning into a song. Maybe this evening I'll upload what I got so far. :)

I'm terrible at drum programming but I've got hold of a few good plugins ...

Steinberg Groove Agent - pretty basic but quick and easy to get a beat going, not bad once you get used to the fiddly automation

Battery 2 - BIG drum sounds, good interface, handy for playing back downloaded MIDI drum patterns but it doesn't come with any grooves

EZDrummer - just astoundingly good, really great sounding kits and lots of MIDI files, grooves and variations to play with, you can pretty much get up and running with it in five minutes

If it gets people playing instead of arguing about whether or not to use lemon oil on their fingerboards then that's got to be a good thing :))

I use Dunlop lemon oil. I like the feel.

Well if we're uploading brainfarts then here's two rough ideas I might work into a mini concept album.

http://soundcloud.com/gilgafrank/baba-yaga

http://soundcloud.com/gilgafrank/a-fist ... d-feathers

Second one drags on a bit, needs cutting in half and a few breaks adding. Plus lyrics. Which I just never get round to writing.

firebird feathers has good potential, I hear a banjo in my head.
as for the EZ Drummer, it has great sounds, I am using some of the drum samples from it in my program.. Acoustica Beatcraft..
I got it for free, so I can't complain.

My brother got it for free. And when he installed it he got a nice old virus on his computer for free. Never trust a pirate copy, it's worth paying the money for legit software if it's something you use a lot.

I love your song names hahaha! The first one does sound like the intro of a 20 minute song, I think I can hear where you're trying to go. I dig it.

The names weren't planned, I just started playing with a setting I liked on the effects wobbly box then this was in my head and I thought it'd be a good basis for a tune ...
