You dropped his guitar and you're still alive to tell us this story???? (kidding)

I wouldn't even take the chance of trying to fix that. I'd take it to a guitar technician and see what they say first. But then.....I'm a sissy that way.

see he wasnt there at the time and he forgot to remind me about his strap! the part of the strap that goes on the strap button the hole was too big. i put on the strap and it was about a foot off the ground and fell and scraped a bit of paint and put an ugly dent in the body. i might be paying for part of the repair costs.

If it was me I would find a expensive (meaning high quality) furniture retailer and ask him how they handle dings on expensive furniture. They probably have special people that do that stuff. At least you can get a expert wood opinion. I would think that it could be completely repaired.

I think I'd still take it to a good guitar technician. Guitars are a little bit different than furniture. And........and estimate is free. Might save you from causing yourself a more expensive disaster. At least you won't be saying, "geez.......I wish I would've............" By then it's too late.

A professional repair job would probably cost more than you think.

Personally I would just leave it alone and play it.

Yet another reason why the only people that touch my guitars is ME. 8)

Repairs can be expensive, with filling and refinishing or retouching or whatnot-if you want it to look like it never happened. Resale on Epiphones (LP or not) isn't great, and the repair bill could be a sizeable percentage of that. I'm not saying don't get an estimate, but do be aware. And like what was said before, estimates are usually free.

Bummer.

You might be better off buying him a new one and you keep the banged up one.

If he is willing to assume some of the responsibility (for having a crummy strap on it without telling you beforehand), then have him pay some of the cost of a new one. How much is up to negotiation.
