Registration just puts you on the mailing list, you don't need it for warranty.

If it is a Fender Special Run it will not be listed on the Fender site. It may be an exclusive to the place you bought it. Send an email to fender customer suport with the serial number and they can tell you all about it.

Welcome

+1

FSR's are seldom listed on the site.

Congrats, a Fender Stratocaster is a fine solid body electric guitar and welcome to the Forum!

I thought I recognized that Strat, just from your verbal description, but once you posted the picture, then I really recognized that Strat.

Yep, Special Edition in trans-amber.

Image

Absolutely no point in trying to "register" it. Track it's origin, maybe, but there's no point (as others here have said) in registering your guitar. It's just like mine.

The one thing that does bother me about the guitar is how the "Special Edition" notation is just a crappy sticker on the back of the headstock. Why not do it right and stamp it or decal it under the finish? Afterthought?

Image

I bought mine new (twice marked down in price) at the local Guitar Center.

Yeah the sticker kinda bothers me too but I know a great guitar luthier whos 70yrs old a fender specialist says hes know about that "not so great sticker " hes gonna put a thin layer of the same finish they use on they're necks and make it permanent. Showd me a sample no one will be able to tell the difference except that youll have to chip at it to remove it. Soon as he comes back from italy from vaca its sooooo done lol. Thanks for the welcome dudes!

LOL...same sticker on my Fender Jazz Bass. I hope it last...five years and still holding!

I couldn't find mine (bought today brand new) on the registration site either... had to settle for selecting the picture of a regular American Special as my FSR must be disavowed or something! Oh, and I scored a Fender G-DEC 3 Thirty amp this weekend off craigslist dirt cheap... and Fender Registration doesn't even list the G-DEC in its amp list anymore... are you kidding me? They sold a bajillion of them!

That's one fine guitar you have there... Fender may treat FSRs like red-headed stepchildren but we know they are the bomb!
