Hello Fender Forum...
Newbie here with a question The Google can't seem to answer... I'm making my own version of a Cabronita (my first build!) and I'm using all genuine Fender parts where appropriate... I've been trying to source some roughsawn Alder and have come across some conflicting info. Some builders identify the Alder used for guitars as Alnus Glutinosa or Black Alder from Europe Asia and Africa, while the Wood database ( http://www.wood-database.com/lumber-ide ... red-alder/ ) says it's Alnus rubra or Red Alder from the pacific northwest. Is there any input here from the horse's mouth that'll make a horse's $@! of one of these sources of info? Thanks!

I don't think Leo imported wood to make guitars in the beginning so red seems to make the most sense.
