the first guitar i ever brought was a fender DG4 acoustic that came in a starter pack about 13 years ago. it has started to show its age and creaks and rattles have appeared, i think something inside was coming unstuck. so i decided i needed a new 6 string acoustic.

with a smallish budget, i went to my mates shop and played everything in my budget that i liked the look of. which was to be honest just epiphones and yamahas. i ended up coming home with this.

of course, the looks blew me away soon as i saw it. the sound however is just as impressive. i really liked the jumbo sound, and being a 'large' guy the extra size felt completely comfortable and normal. the onboard electrics are very good, tuner and 2 seperate pickups that can be blended, basically like having a bridge and a neck pickup that you can combine the tones of to your desire. plays great, is finished superbly, and i love it. there were yamahas that sounded as good, obviously. but none of them had the visual clout of this.

I now this is the Fender site, but some of the guitars that Epiphone produces are super guitars, particularly for what they cost. That one looks darn nice.

Ditto !

Nice Guitar BTW !

I think the Epi's offer a lot of Bang for the Buck !

My Epi AJ surprised the 'experts' at my go-to Guitar Store - Willie's American Guitar - http://www.williesguitars.com

I have not a single doubt that there are better Accoustics out there... just met Charlie Hoffman of Hoffman Handmade Guitars -http://www.hoffmanguitars.com and what he produces for the past 40 years are not even in the same Galaxy as production-line guitars. I bought a Lottery ticket tonight and if I 'hit'. I'm marching down to Hoffman's 1st thing Mon. morning to order both an accoustic as well as one of the excellent solid bodys his son Gabriel produces.

But not all of us are Trust Fund Babies, so we have to take what we can get. And the Epiphones are really a viable choice !!

Enjoy !!

cheers!
