Just stumbled across some pics of my artworks I did in the 90s and early 2000s.
I thought you might like it. Let me know what you think.

Unfortunately I quit airbrush a couple of years ago. Too many hobbies and not enough time!

WOW! I thought your graphic talent was with the Sharpie but now I see that it's with the brush as well. Great work, Smokin'. That spider spooked my wife. It really looks like it's alive!

Thanks for sharing. Any chance you'll go back to the airbrush?

Cheers!
BM

Thank you, BM.
Naaa, I don't think so. I'm busy enough with family, 3 dogs, some guitars and amps ...

I also don't have a room for it. I sed to do it in an extra room in my appartment those days but heck, you find that microscopic paint dust EVERYWHERE!!
So I'd need a room, a suction unit to get rid of the paint dust, my pistols either need new seals or need to be fully replaced, new paints .....

All that effort while hardly having the time to do it regularly.

No, I don't think I will start airbrushing again but who knows......

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Great work, the snake looks so lifelike that you'd think that it was a photo. Such brilliant artwork is guaranteed to bring in good money.

Not anymore!
I earned really good money for a while. I cooperated with a gamestore and painted lots of Playstation 1 consoles on custom order.
But soon those computer printed adhesive "skins" came out for a micro-amount of money and hardly anybody was willing to actually PAY for all the work which is put into these finishes.

For example: that Eddie (Iron Maiden) album cover took me one week. All finishes are a combination of different styles: airbrush, hand brush, razor blades, rubber erasers ....

That Iron Maiden console went for 450 bucks (just for the finish) and it took me about 30 hrs with all the details 'n' stuff.

Hardly ANYBODY is willing to pay that nowadays (except for bike and car customizing maybe).

Not to mention that there's thousands of competitors in that market who are miles further with their abilities than I am.
It can only be a hobby.

Furthermore: since I got sick in 2007, I'm fighting with impared vision and motoric malfuntions every now and then. No good idea to base a new money earning carreer on arts since I never know when it will struck me again. There's a very frequent happening shaking in my right hand, which forces me to wait for the right moment to do artwork. :(

But I honestly highly appreciate your high judging of my humble work (all of you!). Thank you very much! :)
