Can someone please, please, please, help me get Trey from Phish's sound. Even if you can just help me get in the ballpark that would be awesome! I have a Fender Mustang IV, with the four button foot control and the expresssion pedal. I just need help on the effects and amp settings. Anything that you can do would be awesome! I have tried some different things, but have not got it yet. Please Help, thanks!

Go back in time and listen to the Grateful Dead....That is the basis of where Phish came from.
Just hope it's not a journey of 20 years ....

Hey I have the Mustang IV. What's an expression pedal? I don't have that. Thanks.

Try This, it may have your answer.

http://www.strangedesign.org/rigs/

However, seeking your own sound while using his as a direction will result in a ......
Bountiful catch ......

As it was said.... " You can give a man a Fish a Day or teach him to Fish " ......

Sorry, but that is just so unresistible ....

Cheers ....

The strange design link was what I was looking at too. Would prob try starting with the amp (Deluxe Reverb) then working thru the effects, all the while keeping in mind he normally uses a $10,000 guitar....

Budget ....Go back to the beginning and dial in the Grateful Dead for the next 5 or 10 years ....

Hey Ballen,

I am really into Trey's playing as well. I have a Mustang III. The setting I use to play along with Phish is called 'Twin Clean' - that came as one of the presets. I have that in 00 position and it is my favorite. Although he does not really use that delay sound in Twin Clean it just seems to fit well.

He also uses some really hot and distorted tones as well.

What have you used? Did you post it on Fuse for download?

Did you see the latest on trey's rig that was shown at NYE shows this year?

and

You could spend years figuring out all the sounds on all the songs!

thanks,

Willie
