I Saw on the Blues Connection that Chicago Bob Nelson passed away at the age of 78. He was just one more of the old Chicago Blues Men that have left us. He was a harmonica player / singer. The story gose that he picked up the name Chicago Bob from Muddy Waters, when Muddy said every where I go in Chicago there's Bob, so he started calling him Chicago Bob and the name stuck with him the rest of his days.

I lived in Dwtn. Chgo. from the mid '70s to the late '80's. I saw Bob Nelson aka Chicago Bob many times at Mr. Kelly's on Rush Street.

He was a really nice guy... great raconteur, had some wonderful stories about Chicago Bluesmen, incl. Muddy.

Sorry to see him leave us, but he touched everyone who saw him play !

R.I.P. Robert !

cheers!
