I'm looking for an alternative or fix for my issue with the old 5-way in my Aerodyne Strat (Japan). As you may know, this model has no pickguard so I try to avoid scratching the surface, and as a result I often end up whacking the 5-way switch out of position. Does anybody have this problem and/or a solution (other than aiming better)? I thought about using a low profile type like on the Jaguar, but I don't want to cut anything.

Get a new switch. cut the tip off the old one if you want to avoid scratching from trying to pry it off.
