This thread can end, however updating the final result of the truss rod inquiry will be a proper ending.
However I will let the Forum know that you sent me a PM on this threads topic. Which in turn was replied to...

So if you wish you can copy / paste them here so we can have it all in the sunlight and move on ...

One of my best customer service experiences happened with Fender. When I bought my CD60CE, it had a sticker on the pickguard that said "featuring a solid top". This was pretty much the main reason why I bought it. I then emailed Fender asking for a full spec sheet and on the specs it clearly said laminated top. I was puzzled and inquired about what could be a misprint, but it turned out that 8 year old chinese kid who was in charge of putting stickers on the guitars put the wrong sticker on the wrong guitar. After a few email exchanges with Fender they offered to take the guitar back for a full refund, I declined that offer since I was already attached to the guitar so he offered to look around the Fender Shop and just pick something. I ended up with a very FCS barstool that I use fairly often.

What a cool experience, they did everything they could to satisfy me. That's how easy you will earn a life customer. 5 months later I bought another Fender guitar. :)

The end of story...In my 54 years of life I've never had better customer service than I had from Fender.
I had my NEW Telecaster in a week to the day that it was dropped off at my authorized Fender repair guy (Joel Grant from Grant Guitars.) Joel has made some very desirable guitars since he doesn't make them anymore. And he's a great guy to talk to.

I can't thank Rob Schwarz enough!!! I bow down to you Rob!!! You rule!!!

I got the guitar back Saturday, played it for a couple hours, played it again on Sunday for over 4 hours.

To anyone that's never played a '72 Telecaster Deluxe, play one. There isn't a better made electric guitar for strumming power chords, but it's not at all limited to that. I'd put up against any Les Paul.

I bought my first Telecaster Deluxe back in '75 used. It was during the Fender days of parts clearing. It actually had a Stratocaster neck. But that guitar was not as nice as my new MIM '72 Tele Deluxe.

It is now at my luthier getting a setup and possible fret dressing. I will post photos when I get it back.

To those that heckled me, I applaud you. Well done!!!

To those that were plain rude, you're now a foe of mine. You know who you are. I advised you via PM.

I will handle things differently if I have a problem in the future. I apologize to all for my behavior.

Hopefully if I can prove to be worthy, you will allow me in the club.

Next I have my eye on a Telecaster Thinline.

Best regards to all,
Mike

....what can I say? I like a good end to a story. :)

Thanks for the kind words, Mike. More importantly, I hope you get alot of years of music out of it.

Cheers,
rob
