Do you insist on replacement for your new automobiles, a new house, etc. when a problem crops up?

There are innumerable instances of people being without autos for weeks due to problems with new vehicles. Look up "2012 Jeep Wrangler head issue". Some owners have been without their Jeeps for weeks.

They will repair it under warranty at no cost to you. They have met their obligation. I doubt you will find any other standard, non-bespoke guitar maker more accommodating.

If this was your only guitar and you were actively gigging, you would not have bought it thru Musician's Friend. You would have gone to a store near by and played a few and chose the best for that moment....
Seems that if it took you 48 days to thoroughly check the guitar then the question is why did it take so long .... :?

You waited 48 days to contact MF knowing their return policy is 45 days. Boo on you.

If Fender had replaced the entire guitar, you would have found something else to complain about.

Too bad. So sorry. Tough luck. No sympathy.

I will translate the post into actual, modern English:

"I bought something online, then I didn't really check it out properly and waited too long to actually do anything about it and now everybody's sticking to their policies and rules...they should do something different for ME and ME ONLY, because I'm just so dang cool.

Fender should send me a brand new Masterbuilt Custom Shop guitar with the exact specs I want, and have it to me before this weekend. I don't have a gig or anything, but I have an empty guitar stand and it's bothering me.

I also decided to join this forum just to gripe and moan...I'm not going to post any pics of the seven guitars I claim to have bought, because in reality I only looked at the six other guitars...on a website, not in person. I mean, going to the guitar shop would require me to get out of mom's basement...sheesh!

I also don't like Starbucks because their frozen mocha frappachino things give me brain freeze when I drink them too fast. Boo on them, because they should fix that...and because they didn't fix it, I'm gonna shoot the first mermaid I see. That'll show 'em!

PS--My computer's running slowly so Boo on Bill Gates, too. He should fix the internet."

Sounds about right. I might have sympathy for the OP if it was his only guitar but he already owns SIX other Fenders. He's not hurting.

With any luck at all, she'll soon be dressing him in long trousers.

The AUTHORIZED Fender repair guy said he's never seen my guitar problem in 30 years.

It sounds like they're fixing the problem for you--either repairing or replacing the neck. It sucks that it's going to take that long to fix your problem, but this doesn't sound like it's deserving of a Lifetime Ban on doing business with Fender.

Perhaps Fender could (and should) speed up their replacement process a bit, but unfortunately you should have sped up your evaluation time...48 days before you noticed a problem? That problem must be slight indeed!

Also, if the guy has never seen such a problem in 30 years, it obviously is just a freak accident/once-in-half-a-lifetime deal...maybe you're being a bit unfair to all the retailers and manufacturers here?

MAN... You guys are vicious !!!

The OP put his money down and got what he (and his Luthier) believe is a defective product from a renoun company.

He has a right to redress and I hope it gets resolved to his satisfaction !

Just as I would should any of you have an issue.

I just discovered a warranty issue with my new (9/10/12 purchase date) American Vintage FSR Limited Edition '57 Stratocaster which I will be relaying to Fender next week.

I'm not going to go into the issue here before contacting Fender, but I'm seriously hoping both Fender and YOU guys will be more sympathetic than I'm seeing here.

If not, guess I'll have to go 'viral' with it.

cheers!
