I'm just wanting to see if there are any favorite types of tuners you have, and like to use. I have a couple I like. The Snark SN-2, and SN-12. The Boss TU-80. One old back up I have is a Seiko Chromatic Tuner ST-747.
The Snark tuners for me, are the easiest to see. The SN-2 is a clip on type, and the SN-12 is a cord plugin. All of my tuners have a mic for sound tuning also.

I've been using the Planet Waves strobe tuner for a long time. It's very accurate and I've had zero problems with it!

They have new ones out, but I don't know how well they work.

I've had a TC Polytune on my board for a while, works a treat, particularly in stream mode, and is nice and easy to read no matter what the lighting conditions are like. Being able to just do a quick rough check between songs by strumming all the open strings is handy, too.

For setting intonation and general setup/recording stuff at home, I use Peterson Strobosoft on my PC when I have to be super accurate.

I have a Boss TU-3 on my pedal board, which I've never had any problems with, and also a Korg CA-30, on which you can set the frequency you want it to take as A. I'm not sure why you would want that though.

+1000...by far the best one I have EVER used during my 40 years...save for a Peterson Strobe tuner but that was not gig friendly at all.

Say you are playing together with an old analog instrument , like a grand piano/upright which is slightly out of tune (not tuned A = 440 Hz , but perhaps 438 Hz) - then it is more convenient to tune the guitar to the piano , rather than trying to tune 88 notes X 3 strings of the piano
And we all know how convenient it is to use the tuner , so this makes it possible to still use it  I've got the same tuner myself ,amongst others - but I actually prefer that one

Or there's the popular party game -"Name that frequency."

In all seriousness though, I can't fault the thing. I've been using it about five years now and I don't think I've even had to change the batteries.

Snark SN2 and the tuner in my Zoom G1Next effects pedal. The Zoom is calibratable, the Snark isn't.

cheers!

Planet Waves strobe tuner - Very good, extremely accurate fast
Seiko Chromatic Tuner SAT500 Hand held - Accurate and fast response.
Korg CA30 - Not to good, slow response. Kind of like it's hard of hearing.

Actually I like my Fender RT-1000 just fine! Very easy to tune and you can check it while playing. Fender only issued them for about 1 model year. Lucky I got one.

Image

When the blue "F" in the middle lights up it is in tune. This is the coolest rack tuner I've ever used. Simple latch on/off foot switch mutes it. Great tuner.

Fender PT-100. Like it for rehearsals and small gigs when I don't take the stack with the rack tuner in the head rack. This Fender pedal tuner has an issue where the pedal button breaks or screws retaining the actual switch itself strip out because they are screwed into PLASTIC. Tunes well when it works.

Image

Love the Snark SN-2 that I've been using on my ukuleles and electric bass for home practice. The Snark SN-2 is a heck of a good buy. I just wrote an Amazon review for it. I can't believe how well they work for so little moolah. Little booger tunes every instrument I own and weighs like 1.5 ounces.

Image

Have to throw an honorable mention out to my old Korg GA30. It was really a good tuner but you couldn't see it on stage and it didn't have pass through. Good for tuning an acoustic at home though. Another good cheap tuner. Was dang near indestructible. Gave it away to someone who still uses it. I think it is at least 8 years old now.

But my best tuner of all is.....
