Blair, cool vid.
Noah, great rhythm section in that first vid, groovy band too.

sounded pretty good actually, you're gonna have to do some serious woodshedding before you play carnegie hall but you can definitely play :D

Thanks. Carnegie Hall? lzozlzolzozzl. I will be happy if I'm ever in a band that plays a dive bar with 3 people watching. In fact, I'd "pay to play." On second thought, I'd be happy to have a practice space other than an apartment, where I can turn it up loud enough to hear. lzozlzloz

Here I am mucking around on my new Yamaha 12 string- this is the first video I've posted and nothing serious- its all a bit of running a muck & having fun with it. I don't usually post vids, as I'm in between jobs at the moment I'm just having fun :) It keeps me from letting down tyres in the parking lot :D

Feel free to give feedback

This is awesome. Beautiful playing.

+1

Sounds good! Wish the camera was a little further back so we could see your fretting hand the whole time.

Well, since I haven't seen this thread before and since I have recently posted a new vid of the band to YT, here goes...

The vid quality is a bit cheesy at best as this was all recorded with a single little Sony Handicam that I had on a tripod sitting on a table in the corner of the bar. Likewise, it's not one of the best shows we've put on either, as our lead singer had just returned from 2 weeks in Italy and was suffering from rather severe jet lag (he couldn't even make it home from the gig that night...had to have his wife come and get him), but it'll give ya'll an idea of this Southern Rock band that I got myself roped into last year. Basically we did a total of 3 practice last September, scored our first gig in October and have been playing out steadily ever since...and we've only had -1- practice since last September (and that was back in January). Basically we get together a couple of times a month and get payed for it 8).

As indicated in the (rather long) intro, this was part of a charity gig we did with another band, Pete and the Flying Wombat, to raise money for Aids research. Despite the poor video quality, I'm basically cutting this together for our 1 year anniversary in August...thought a DVD of us "in concert" would be a nice gift for the guys to celebrate.

And for those who've listened to my rants here on Fender.com on and off over the years, while it doesn't show up really well, to give you a face to go with all my blathering, yes, I'm the yo-yo in the Porkpie hat, wearing the Hawaiian shirt, LOL! :-)

Here's a sample video of me sort of goofing around on my '95 Fender Strat and explaining the versatility of the guitar. I just sort of "winged it" when I made the video, as there's goofs, and me getting tongue tied and not reading from a script like an actor. What you see, is what you get.

Gear used: 1995 Fender Strat straight into a 2011 Fender Frontman 65r solid state. No pedals, no nothing. Just a hint of reverb from the amp and the footswitch for channel switching.

Example cover tunes that I quickly play a bit of:
Annie's Song (John Denver) 1:48 - 2:33
Honey Don't (Carl Perkins) 2:58 - 4:09
Lookin' Out For #1 (Bachman-Turner Overdrive) 5:10 - 5:54
Back In Black (AC/DC) 7:07 - 7:50
Stranglehold (Ted Nugent) 8:13 - 9:04
Iron Man (Black Sabbath) 9:26 - 11:10
Sample blues jam 11:50 - 13:05
(Sort of a version/sample/influence of both "Have You Ever Loved A Woman" (Derek & The Dominoes, off the Layla album) and "Red House" (Jimi Hendrix). For some stupid reason, the video cut off right at 13:05 right before I was going to end the blues jam.

The band is Reunion 69, & the original song .... Gone ..... was written by the band.

The video was shot by friends, & edited by the band. The audio was recorded & mixed, also by the band.

Gig was at The Plough & Harrow PH, in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, UK

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vtlo8iodVpg

If you can stand it, type "Reunion69" into the YouTube search box & you will find more.

Six OAP's who ought to know better & get on with being retired (I'm the bass player with the battered 68 P Bass)
